Matchmaking kinda sucks. There will be level 10 people (beginners) paired with level 50 and level 100 people.
But usually teams are balanced, as in both teams will have the same mix of skill levels.

You'll occasionally encounter shitters who team kill people for not playing good or people they don't like.
There are also shitters who are rude to their own teammates on mic.

Still it's a fun game.

There's a big learning curve at the beginning. Play the single player situations, and watch youtube tutorial videos on a couple operators that you think you wanna buy with your in game currency (called renown).

the game works best when people use voice chat (which you can do in random casual games).
Oddly most people don't use voice chat, which sucks.

I've always played alone so far, and I've added a lot of people who I enjoyed being team mates with, but so far I've never created a squad with them to play together again on casual.

peekers advantage is absurd in this game, having 100 ping can let you kill players without you ever appearing on their screen.

maps are a mixed bag and you can't choose the ones you want. also for whatever reason you can't choose where you hold or spawn like in ranked so you can get fucked over by rng.

operator balance isn't great either, some operators are almost required and some are trash. takes a long time to unlock the dlc operators through all through grinding.

I haven't, and although Siege has it's quirks, it's rewarding enough for me to continually play it.
