360 although the N64 version is still perfectly playable. 360 version looks better and runs at 60FPS.
>>
360 is just the N64 version but better in every aspect.
>>
>>377324445
360 is pretty good.

360 version saves notes IIRC. In Kazooie on the N64 you had to get all 100 in one go or get fucked.
>>
>>377324445
I can't think of any reason you wouldn't get the 360 version, unless you were really hurting to use some Gameshack codes or something.
>>
>>377324445
Neither. SJWs tainted it.
>>
>>377325070
wrong game, moron
>>
>>377324825
The challenge of having to get them all in one go is what makes the levels fun though.
I mean, the levels in BK take you like 10-40 minutes tops to 100% notes in.

>I mean, the levels in BK take you like 10-40 minutes tops to 100% notes in.
Only level that it was really even any challenge in was Click Clock Woods just because they were scattered throughout 4 seasons but it was a welcome change on the 360 version. Even Rare knew they fucked up with it seeing how it was changed in BT.
>>
>>377325523
It's a bitch in Banjo Tooie though.
I got everything in the first one on 360 but fuck Tooie.
It's not even fun when the worlds are so massive.
>>
>>377325186
Similar enough
>>
>>377325762
Then explain what's been censored in Banjo-Kazooie.
>>
You can play it on PJ64 and use a gameshark to get 60fps.
Other than that, 360.
>>
>>377324445
360 versions are good, but they had to remove a couple of nintendo assets
>>
>>377325702
I don't remember it working that way in tooie as well. It's been a while since I played it so I might be wrong. Tooie was more of an adventure game anyway. There was more stuff to do but less shit to have to collect.

>>377325696
I still think it's a balance. Click Clock wood does indeed suffer from it because it's the same copypaste level 4 times and it's more difficult to keep track of stuff, but the rest of the game it's completely trivial and knowing that you have to get it all in one go is a welcome challenge to an otherwise lazy experience
>>
>>377325702
At least notes were really trivial in Tooie seeing as they were in bunches of 5 and treble clefs leaving only 17 items relating to notes to collect.

>>377325762
>Game from almost 20 years ago is somehow relevant to SJW shit done in a game made by less than 5 people from the original games.
Fuck off retard.
>>
>>377326120
Speaking of collecting all the notes did the door for the double health bar with red honeycombs require all 900 notes? I remember it being either 900 or very close to it.
>>
>>377326357
I remember one of them being 900, maybe the gold feather one?
It's actually a pretty good reward since I'm pretty sure you need plenty of eggs and red/gold feathers for the final fight. Better than MM anyway, where 100% the game means the final boss is completely trivial.

>That awful new health bar mugshot in the 360 version.

I haven't really played the 360 version myself though I am aware of the changes. I prefer note collecting in the N64 version because it feels like more of a challenge. Yeah, it sucks if you fail that challenge, but the 360 version doesn't give any sort of emotional gratification for collecting them all since there's no challenge to stay alive.

I think that the 2D graphics, icons, and text look far less jarring in the N64 version. The higher resolution of the 360 version meant they had to use higher resolution 2D assets, but the polygons and their textures weren't similarly improved, and that creates a weird disconnect between the world and the UI.

There's the higher, more consistent frame rate of the 360 version, but even that has its problems compared to the sub 30 fps of the N64 version. I remember hearing that audio and sound effects can become out of sync at times with the visuals because they were originally produced to work with known frame drops in mind.

Last thing is Stop 'N' Swop. You can do it in either version, and the 360 version has the benefit of being able to actually use it towards Tooie and Nuts 'n Bolts. But if you're just playing Banjo-Kazooie and don't plan on doing the others, there's no real major difference between versions.

The 360 version also has achievements, and saving is disabled if you use specific cheats. Between controllers as well, there's something more natural about using the original control scheme with the N64 controller compared to a more modern controller. All in all, I'd say just okay the original, and maybe try out the 360 version later on.

Also wanted to add that the 360 version has a glitch where if you do all Bottles Bonus puzzles before Click Clock Wood, you can actually permanently lose access to the two notes in the hive since Banjo collects them in the picture and note collecting is now permanent. I'm not sure if that ever got fixed with a patch. Non permanent notes do add the small benefit of the option to replay levels to get all 100 notes again for fun, though at that point you might as well start a new game.

Even though 882 notes are all you need in the game, I go for all 900 because why not at that point? I also go for all Mumbo Tokens. I just wish there were rewards for getting EVERYTHING.
