Gririmekala is only a problem becuase if you go STR your demons become the primary source of damage and you become support. If you go MAG than he's a joke.
Noah is a joke, he's just tedious if you go STR. Chiaki's gimmick attack can literally miss, and Hikawa's first phase is just followed the rules, his second phase is a regular battle.

Which his why Matador is the only boss. You can't a force magatama on hard mode and have no good skills unless you grind yourself out. After Matador it's a while before you fight another boss so you and demons can acquire a good set of skills before Dante and Troll.

Get Strange Journey for the DS it's the best SMT.

Grinding isn't as much of a thing compared to other JRPGS. Instead you want to fuse new demons that are immune/resistant to whatever enemy you're having issues with. Also buff and debuff abilities are way more important compared to most other JRPGS.
