Speed +3 or Close Counter on a +Spd Genny?
The former puts me at 32 speed, 36 with a Hone buff, which lets me avoid more doubles. On the other hand, a lot of things have Fury these days, and Genny probably wouldn't be fighting that much to begin with, and Close Counter lets her be a soft counter to dragons.

My Hinoka easly destroys Takumi (unless he is +DEF) and Minerva can take out every blue unit imaginable. I also run a Olwen because I have her and 90% of the time, my Hinoka will be busy going brocon on Takumi, so she will be my dedicated red killer. When I did it I only won because my - att ryouma traded enough hits with boey to get his astra ready and then when cecilia attacked him his vantage activated and he ohko'd her. I played through the revelations fan translation that was rushed out and very rough since the game was coming out in a month or so. TA on MRobin isn't all that reliable anymore, Takumi is a rare encounter and greens are far more numerous in the arena. The way you make him work is by using either Quick Riposte to make him a baiter/pain in the ass to attack into or by simply going with swordbreaker to get that extra damage on reds.

The idea is you want him to be as annoying as possible to deal with and make use of his defensive ability to stand in and block threats, while TA was great in the Takumi meta it ends up hurting more than helping now. Mrobin is still a good arena defensive unit these days.

Because aside from Tharja, none of the infantry Red Mages can double or oneshot any common Sword user. Leo needs cav buffs to do it also. The most common Greens are Mages when Robin has bad Res and the most common physical Green is Hector who has Distant Counter. Camilla also has good Res and Sheena is just a fucking wall physically and magically. Anna is also a Res tank. Literally the only low Res common Green are Minerva, bCamilla, and Cherche, who tend to be in flier meme teams so their stats will get inflated anyways. It's better to secure coverage against 3 groups of unit than to not completely suck against the colour he's supposed to lose to anyways. He's not a wall like Lukas so he can't use a memetic setup to say fuck you to the WT.

If you're using MRobin in the first fucking place he's not a threat to anyone with a Green on their team, have you fucking seen his Spd and Res? Fuck, pretty much every Blue can kick his ass as well so long as he isn't running B.Tomebreaker. TA enhances his offense AND capitalizes on his defense against Reds and Colorless, while making him even weaker to something that'll fucking nuke his ass regardless of what he tries to do.

Swordbreaker is the best you're going to get with him if you're looking to counter Red and have a chance of killing shit. QR doesn't matter if he's already dead, as the attack order is
Attacker > Defender > Attacker (if doubling, which with MRobin's 29 base Speed they almost certainly are doubling) > QR counter
so the vast majority of Greens are already going to fuck him in the ass (especially the Mages), and with QR so is pretty much every single Blue as well since they'll likely ORKO his ass before he can get the QR hit in since he's not running B.Tomebreaker.

Robin already screws over 2 colors, TA only makes him weaker in this meta. If built properly he is still a wonderful arena defensive unit because he straight up doesn't have a weakness (unless you use TA) and always gives the opponent a bad trade.

He isn't a damage juggernaut, his job is to be annoying and without TA he can still chunk green mages and Hector to weaken them for your other units. That is the goal remember, Robins entire job is to give the opponent bad trades.
