The only reason I'm still subbed is because I'm "retired" on a RP server with enough gold to last me forever if I keep on playing the AH minigame. It really is the best thing to do now that most endgame options aren't that fun anymore. The majority of RPers may be fucking terrible at the game, but they really make the server a better place.

This is why rp profiles were a mistake in any game except CoH. I just gave up on Wow after going around seeing how there were 5 cout em 5 archdruids sitting in front of the church with about 10 paladins who had more military titles than I think exist.

Its why most rp guilds arent my thing, because most of the time its a bunch of assholes coming up with headcannon rather than how they fit in the world. And if anyone dares suggest that they arent the greatest thing since sliced bread they'll get butthurt and rant about how much time they spent making their epic backstory in their guild echochamber.

It's a side effect of roleplaying in MMOs, people usually get so focused on one character because it's what you've spent all your time playing that they become a mess after all. I always would see someone have ideas that would work well for a different character or story but they end up trying to use it with their main and it just becomes a schizophrenic mess after a while. RPing 2 or more characters over time helps alleviate this

This has always been the dumbest rule. A GM once teleported me in a bunch of hostile guards, then sent me pissy whispers. I made a thread on the forums to ask if it was appropriate for him to ask, but that got quietly removed by the mods.
