If anything, it's somewhat overrated. It does its job well, but its gets way too repetitive, and you can't even enjoy the better guns because you're better off with the boring picks that reliably get ammo.

It's amusingly inept against other NPCs. There's one spot where you can watch replicas fight armacham security, it's a 3v3 fight and it drags on seriously long.

I got an rx480 and now I can at least get 60fps with no AA

I used to have a 670 and I would get 20 frames with or without AA

I guess you're right, I really didn't appreciate this game.

I want to say Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, but the lackluster second half of the game and the game-breaking bug which you have a huge percent chance of encountering and literally not being able to fix and get pass makes me not.
Still love the FUCK outta the game, though.

the game breaking bugs are there because of compatibility issues. I played the game on the same hardware on XP without any issues but it works like shit on win7 and above. the scripts are completely broken, and the ship level game a BSOD. great game though.

Play the actual game next time. It has the best and most enjoyable gameplay of any FPS game. It's miles better than HL2 imo.

Only the game-play is more more enjoyable. HL2 has a lot more going for it otherwise, but FEAR's game-play is just too fucking good that it almost transcends its faults.

Something is very wrong with me.

Despite environment being somewhat repetitive, it fits the theme for the game. Also, atmosphere was very good.

This game has really fun, brutal combat, combos get too OP though. Some anons compared it to a kind of proto dark souls because of the lonelyness and dangerous atmosphere, aswell as numerous deadly traps. Too bad it works like shit on modern machines and needs a dozen fixes to be playable, still worth it though just make several save filesnot like me on my first playthrough

This game got a pretty lukewarm reception on release. But watching some gameplay with the time travel/manipulatio stuff plus some crazy weapons it's kind of hard to believe this was just a 6/10. I mean it was made by Raven too (RIP in piece)

Yeah, I really have no idea why the reviews were so mediocre. This game is a gem. The environments, gameplay, the enemy variety, it was all done so well. I think people were too quick to write it off as a Bioshock rip off, while it was actually a worthy take on the formula.
