how is FEAR underappreciated?
>>377308243
It isn't. However I FEEL that it is underappreciated.
But just about everyone sucks FEAR's cock.
If anything, it's somewhat overrated. It does its job well, but its gets way too repetitive, and you can't even enjoy the better guns because you're better off with the boring picks that reliably get ammo.
>>377308427
Are you literally retarded?
>>377308201
But /v/ loves FEAR.
>>377308479
the AI is still the best in a game to date. that alone fixes any issues of repetitiveness
>>377308635
It's amusingly inept against other NPCs. There's one spot where you can watch replicas fight armacham security, it's a 3v3 fight and it drags on seriously long.
This obviously.
>your starting pistol is a Deagle brand Deagle
OP you fucked up.
Lets post some real underappreciated games which probaly 90% of this board hasn't even heard of.
>Marauder, is a squad based and tactical 3D game with RPG elements. It was released in late 2009, in Russia. You may know these names as the former made Brigade 7,62
One of the handful games where realtime with pause combat is actually enjyoable and highly tactical.
>>377308568
He didn't say anything about /v/.
>>377308790
>RTwP
Already shit
>>377308859
When the game was released it was hailed in magazines as the best FPS ever, even overshadowing HL2 which was still in fresh momory.
>>377308201
Too bad the level design and the story sucks. Monolith's other games are way better.
>>377308201
nigga FEAR doesn't get anything but love here, despite all of its blatant shortcomings
>>377308790
that game is fantastic
the mission where your neighbors try to rob you and you just mow them down en masse was fucking satisfying
>>377308928
Because you have played a lot of trash RTPW games and none of the good ones.
>>377308930
a fps game consists of nothing but storage rooms and warehouses is considered one of the best fps games ever. sad really.
>critically and commercially successful with multiple sequels
>underappreciated
What did he mean by this?
Silent storm is one of my favorites.
>>377308427
Ah, so you're just a complete retard. Gotcha.
Carry on.
>>377308567
Why is everyone on this website such a fucking prick? Oh yeah because it's anonymous
>>377309126
Have you considered that maybe your'e just actually retarded?
Obscure and underappreciated do not mean the same thing.
>>377309193
Maybe. However, I can check my spelling at least. You're*
>>377309324
Congratulations, yo'uve really put in a lot of effort. Attacking spelling, how original!
>>377308989
>first time playing only had the pistol and hunting shotgun
>hard as fuck, had to retreat into the appartment
>second time had found a AK74u and pump action shotgun
>run down and unleash the lead on the peasants
Good times
>>377308427
>>377309324
>U- U spiel bad!!!
>That sure showe him

>>377309827
lol okay
>>377309324
who'm's't'st't
no pic, but Temple of Elemental Evil has unmatched D&D combat.
>>377308201
I just discovered this hidden gem recently. I can't believe it isn't talked about more.
Probably one of the best strategy games I've ever played
36 replies and still not a single mention of Okami, this thread should be ashamed
>>377308790
>t was released in late 2009, in Russia
Is the English translation good? It looks real neato.

This game runs like shit on modern systems
I got an rx480 and now I can at least get 60fps with no AA
I used to have a 670 and I would get 20 frames with or without AA
>>377308201
OH FUCK OFF
I nominate Evil Within.
>>377314768
I guess you're right, I really didn't appreciate this game.
I want to say Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, but the lackluster second half of the game and the game-breaking bug which you have a huge percent chance of encountering and literally not being able to fix and get pass makes me not.
Still love the FUCK outta the game, though.
>>377308427
Hey guys I attached a gif of OP
>>377315204
the game breaking bugs are there because of compatibility issues. I played the game on the same hardware on XP without any issues but it works like shit on win7 and above. the scripts are completely broken, and the ship level game a BSOD. great game though.
Arma 2 is pretty underappreciated if you compare it to dayz
>>377308427
You may or may not be a faggot, but boy do I really feel like you are one.
>>377309028
>muh repetitive environments
Play the actual game next time. It has the best and most enjoyable gameplay of any FPS game. It's miles better than HL2 imo.
>>377308201
>>377315458
The game-ending bug is the lights in the distance one. Where you have to shoot at them from the boat.
So it's really just the compatibility problem? Cool, next time I play it I'll try to remember. Haven't played the second half in ages because of that.
>>377315554
Only the game-play is more more enjoyable. HL2 has a lot more going for it otherwise, but FEAR's game-play is just too fucking good that it almost transcends its faults.
>tfw ur best contra but nobody loves you
>>377315769
>tfw FEAR still isn't repetitive for me simply because of gameplay and I keep replaying it yearly
Something is very wrong with me.Despite environment being somewhat repetitive, it fits the theme for the game. Also, atmosphere was very good.
This game has really fun, brutal combat, combos get too OP though. Some anons compared it to a kind of proto dark souls because of the lonelyness and dangerous atmosphere, aswell as numerous deadly traps. Too bad it works like shit on modern machines and needs a dozen fixes to be playable, still worth it thoughjust make several save filesnot like me on my first playthrough
>>377316193
>that image
>>377316193
Thank you for sharing that picture with me, it's weird how something as simple as Rickey Gervis show mixed with FEAR makes me genuinely happy.
It's honestly not even a criticism of mine, the game takes place inside a damn building. Unless people want building to have the complexity of a city.
>>377315642
unfortunately, there are many other (frustrating) game breaking bugs. it still playable though.
>>377316262
a game dear to my heart. too bad that anything but knight feels underdeveloped and tacked on. Barbarian was kinda allright still.
>>377308427
One of the most underrated games of last gen.
>>377308427
>>377308427
this post made me smile
>>377317115
This game got a pretty lukewarm reception on release. But watching some gameplay with the time travel/manipulatio stuff plus some crazy weapons it's kind of hard to believe this was just a 6/10. I mean it was made by Raven too (RIP in piece)
>>377317463
Yeah, I really have no idea why the reviews were so mediocre. This game is a gem. The environments, gameplay, the enemy variety, it was all done so well. I think people were too quick to write it off as a Bioshock rip off, while it was actually a worthy take on the formula.
