You all created a fantasy of what the game would be in your head based on a trailer and a suspicious vertical slice (oh really, we just happen to have all the setpieces for the trailer in the demo? I'm sure the real game will be just as dynamic). Gameplay looked like a total snoozefest where you could get away with anything.

Bethesda's quality standards are horseshit and this game was probably cancelled due to politics and shady Zenimax greed, but it wasn't a major loss.
