Is LR really that great? I bought it shortly after release but never played through it. My crippling autism makes it difficult for me to play games where you have a time limit. Even if it's easy to cheese the system where it doesn't become a big management issue.

LR doesn't really feel like an FF game, if anything it felt a bit closer to the SaGa series (which I love), I didn't read into it but I bet the SaGa team was in fact involved.

Time Limit is pretty much irrelevant given you can time stop almost infinitely depending on how you play. If you do it too much you'll likely find yourself with nothing left to do and need to let time flow. Time flowing is good to get stronger versions of bosses and stronger enemies/spells anyway.

Bit like SaGa games, it's a game that's intended to be replayed anyway. So you're not supposed to overly concern yourself over missing things.

See, that's kind of my problem. I kind of don't care for open world shit. I don't think XIII was perfect by any stretch, but I think the linearity worked for it, and XIII-2 was even better there.

Hm, I wouldn't say 'great', but it did leave me wanting. I honestly don't remember time ever being an issue. In fact, the game is incredibly laid back. Not just in gameplay, but general atmosphere and story. I liked the way they handled player progression through quests; never felt grind-y.

LR is good. The time limit is a red herring, unless you have a stroke or seizure while playing and leave the game idle you are not likely to actually run out.
