Matches are 20 minutes usually, anything longer than 25 is an exception, not the norm.

There is a meta where some heroes and combinations are definitely stronger than others.

Lane management doesn't involve last hitting or denying, just make sure you don't leave lanes unattended.

There are no items, just talent choices. Some talents are better picked to counter specific heroes but the majority of the time you can just pick the agreed "best" talents.

Roles are stricter in HotS than other mobas because of not having items. A tank hero can't just get super fed with items and start dishing out the damage.

HotS is good because you can start having teamfights and meaningful engagements and actually start taking down towers at level 1.

In most DotA clone games you need to just do last hitting and denying for 15 minutes before you're allowed to start having fun. I don't care what anybody says about the "depth" of the laneing phase, it's fucking BORING and not fun.

Most characters can't really do anything interesting until they have all their abilities. He can push like crazy, most of his push comes when team fights/objectives come up, because you can both help out with the fight via hats/mines while also pushing out empty lanes.

The hat is incredibly useful depending on how it's spec'd. Attack speed and damage for divers? Heal/shields for tanks & clutch saves? He's got it all.

Mines are less about damage and more about visibility and throwing divers off their game. If you know the map and know where a fight is going to happen, you set mines up in the bushes nearby so the enemy can't use them. Otherwise you toss them around where you think the enemy team is to give visibility.

Once again, they're amazing if used properly. Monstrosity if built up well basically gives you a free boss that either wrecks a lane or forces enemy heroes out of a team fight to deal with you. Evolution is absurdly good if you have a good team comp and you can use the hero you're cloning properly.

He's great but he's a very high level hero. Both Abathur and his team have to know the map and what they're doing.

The biggest problem I've noticed with Cho'Gall though is if Cho is the kind of player that doesn't go to objectives. Normally, you have one guy on your team that keeps pushing during an objective it's no big deal or even a good thing because they do some damage. If Cho'Gall ignores objective then you're effectively trying to do a 3v5 every team fight and you're fucked.

The first reason is that players who are disconnected by the end of the game are not accounted for when calculating win rates. The second reason is that by default hotslogs only factors in players whose hero is level +5. Anything below it gets filtered out.

This means that if a Cho plays with a Gall with a level below 5, while he is above it, the Gall will be filtered and only the Cho contributes to the win rate. Because Galls are typically the newer players/people who don't have cho'gall yet, their Gall will be below level 5 usually.

I'm so conflicted with this game, playing it with 2 for about a week for obvious reasons.

We all agree that the game is kinda shit and horribly balanced, it doesn't punish bad players, and gives them a huge crutch, also assassins late game are joke vs tanks, tanks have assassin damage and tank defense at lvl 20 most of the time, and the other obvious things you all already know.

So one of my friends likes it to troll the pugs, I enjoy the collection aspect of the loot boxes, I don't give a rat's ass if I win or lose I just want exp and boxes. And the other friend is a faggot who can't stop crying if he loses and is the lowest level and still cries about balance when he doesn't spend any time researching the meta or trying heroes in try mode at the very least.

I don't know how to feel, I hated the business model for so much, but the handouts make it feel not as bad as the alternative games, and dota is tryhard central anyways.

I think once the event is over the population will decrease dramatically, I'm not sure if the game is worth playing still, but god damn opening the stupid loot crates trigger my hoarding compulsions.

Hows your experience been with 2.0 /v/irgins? I played a few games when it came out but the grind really put me off, temped back with the mega bundle and I've been having a bit of fun with it. Split pushing with Zagara is a blast, especially once you get nydus and can be everywhere at once.
