Ok, the DC Universe is actually a "multiverse" full of infinite copies of Earth, each with different variations of its heroes and villains, some close to the typical Earth we know, some extremely different.
Earth 1 is the "base" Earth, starring the typical versions of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, etc.

Honestly. Superman and Spider-Man. Beyond the silver age at the very least. Are actually surprisingly similar. Spider-Man is mostly just down to earth.
But they're both stories about extraordinary individuals with spectacular powers, set out to be heroes since they have the powers and abilities for such heroics.
And despite said powers, the stories always regularly find ways to thoroughly shit on their lives. And in spite of said shit they persist and remain heroes due to the good nature of their hearts.

There is a difference in scope and scale but otherwise they're really very similar.

After the crisis on infinite earths a bunch of timeslines were merged to create a single one (this was because stuff had gotten really confusing in DC continuity, and they love multiverse stuff anyway).

Some characters, basically PowerGirl were leftover from a dead universe and came to the new one. Her and Supergirl I think had an issue where they couldn't be around eachother. I also think they could've done just a bit more with his moveset, give him some more unique abilities. Like, for one thing, his Omega Beams have the ability to teleport whoever they strike, so it could've been interesting to have a projectile where he teleports you wherever he wants on-screen, which might be very useful since as a zoner, he wants to be away from the opponent and in control of the screen. Just something cool and unique like that.
