I could get a PS4 off craigslist RIGHT NOW for 50 bucks if I wanted to. But I need to ask, why am I expected to shell money out for another system when Sega, a company whose goal is to MAKE money, decides to arbitrarily hold back games from PC? Especially when they've constantly sung the platform's praises day in and day out. I'd rather buy the PS4 for games that Sony actually owns, like Bloodborne or their first party titles, not for games publishers arbitrarily keep exclusive.

Tetris at very core is pretty damn simple, it doesn't take that much to get "good", of course going full autismo takes time. But Puyo isn't really that beginner friendly with chaining. and the entire concept.

Puyo is more or less akin to a fighting game where you need put pressure on the opponent, for a casual player dealing with constant chaining or even a huge ass chain is quite frustrating. And not having a "proper" tutorial hurts a bit.

On the surface level that's it, sure, but if you try that against any halfway decent opponent you will leave yourself open to getting knocked out by a quick harassment instead.
Puyo has pretty simple fundamentals, but the core has been around for like 30 years now so the metagame had lots of time to develop. Good puyo is full of mindgames and trying to trick your opponent into making mistakes, it's really interesting while constantly adapting and trying to keep up, it's super deep.

It's a lot deeper than Tetris, honestly. But Tetris is more of a single player game and not really designed to be played competitively anyways. There is Vs modes in some of the games and obviously Puyo Puyo Tetris has it in a big way, but the core gameplay just doesn't lead itself to Vs anywhere near as much

Henshin was literally "Fever but less fun", the art was bad, Ecolo was a complete joke of a final boss that tried to set up a 19 chain or something that you could stop with a single well-timed 2-chain, the art was REALLY BAD, and literally through all of Fever/Fever 2's plot out the window for no real reason at all.
I seriously can't overstate how bad the art in 7 is. Just look at it compared to 20th.

I haven't played it myself so I couldn't give too much of a description, but it seems fine enough from what I've seen and has a decently positive enough outlook from most fans. The sun garbage gimmick seems like it might be dumb, but it doesn't seem to prolong the game for too long at least. Another issue I've seen in 4's gameplay is that only one row of garbage seems to fall at a time, which must drag a loss on for much longer than it really needs to.
