Open your sound properties for your microphone and speakers (or headphones) and in Advanced set it to 24 bit, 48000 hz.

I had the same crashing issue until I did that, now it works fine.

Gave it a go.

Runs great, like the gameplay. Bit straightforward and seems prone to being utterly broken, so I probably won't get that involved in the MP.

It's the sort of game you know you're just going to get destroyed in over and over. Still, managing parabolas, cover and range is great.

I'm totally down with the plot, that mystery is driving me like nothing else. So I'm going to leave the thread before someone spoils it.

It gets bad in Quick mode. They changed the Arsenals there, but I hate that one.

The true skills is balancing your Arsenal with 15 skills and 15 Aura Particals. Similar to how deck building in Magic used to be. You want half your deck to be the "engine" while the other being skills.

Well if nothing else, playing Phantom Dust has keenly reminded me why I fucking hate card games.

Hey you know what would make Phantom Dust better? If they removed all the cardgame elements. Just removed them. Tossed into the garbage. Made a different game.

Even then, why does that shit only spawn in one tiny space on each map?

Phantom Dust's card-game elements is what makes it what it is. Too bad you aren't into it, but there's a careful balance between building your deck to have skills for any situation.

I can think of a dozen different ways to have multiplayer-focused post-apoc mage battles with skill-management that don't involved camping one tiny area until your shitty beginner's card deck spews game-winning shit at you.

I'm just frustrated. Losing card games, faux or not, is so incredibly frustrating. It's a decent game otherwise.

I'm thinking why the hell they decided to make the mediocre obscure title a windows 10/windows store exclusive, the devs have said they would like to do a sequel if a lot of people play the remaster, buy the in app purchases, well, excluding the entirety of steam, windows 7 and windows 8 users isn't going to help you.

the card elements are literally what make this game unique. It would just be a generic third person action game if not for the strategy involved in preserving and managing aura/skills plus deck building. I agree the idea of making a third person action game a hybrid card game makes it feel like a kinda lukewarm version of both, but they did a pretty damned good job in my opinion in regards to execution of such a weird and novel concept. There's a really chunkiness that I love about the combat. The way you bounce off of everything if you get slammed into a wall and the way debris flies up into the air. They have some nice little fine detail scattered about.
