I beat each CoD from CoD4 to Ghosts on Veteran. I found CoD4's the hardest, WaW second, and MW2 third, then more or less had no real trouble with any of the rest.

Veteran isn't even that hard for the most part. Find a good spot for cover, shoot people and drop down to prone immediately if you get shot. Just doing that works for most cases.
