he had a hard life
that's true, but he essentially fulfilled his purpose (indirectly) by the end and went from a nobody to one of the last living beings alive
plenty of NPCs don't get anywhere near fulfilling their goals

Yes, that's why he is such a great character. He is supposed to be like the player, an undead who made it to the end of all things because of his unbreakable will. Patches is similar.
Hard to say because you literally know nothing about his pass.

The slave knight items reveal a lot moron
>>377234971
THERE IS NO CUTSCENE HOW CAN I TELL WHAT HE WAS
>>377233706
>want to help people using his set and greatsword
>everything set up
>see the chaps
Fucking why?
>>377234868
Hand it over, that thing, your Dark Soul III Deluxe Edition
>>377234392
>one of the last living beings alive
Yep just him, the ashen one, that one dying pygmy, Shira and the random ringed knight in the outskirts.
>>377234971
Yeah that's it. He's a slave never relieved from duty and bleakest of battles.
You never know where he's from how he met the painter, how he became a slave, why he does what he does. why he prays to the mother of the forlorn.
He's just hobo man.

>a fine Dark Souls The Ringed City DLC, to you
>>377235716
Who was that random ringed knight?
>>377236249
That one with the twin greatswords that you find right of the first bonfire in filianore's rest behind the ruins. He drops a titanite slab if you kill him.
>>377235898
You mean, exactly like the player character?
>>377235898
I like to look at it the same way our character is. We only really get presented their backstory through basic things like the starting class or homeland origin. But do we know why we're unkindled, why did our character try and link the fire, was it willingly or not? We decide that for ourselves but in terms of the story it doesn't matter, what does matter is that we're here and we have our task at hand and perhaps we'll change the world during our quest. Gael is like us in that regard.
>>377236780
What made him special enough to survive the end of the world?
>>377237471
The two cheesy swords.
He was the king of pvp.
>>377237471
>not knowing his lore
He was the strongest defender of Filianore who killed the most dragons during the war, his will is unbreakable.Just kidding he was most likely a way to get a free titanite slab if you needed a better upgraded weapon against gael
>>377237471
It was actually Velka
