No, it's not. It's there to establish the true main character who sees and experiences way more than 2B and also hint at his mental instability and secretiveness. All his unique side quests revolve around getting into the minds of machines as well, and he hides their content from 2B so stuffing it into her playthrough would be retarded.

And those side quests are some of the most hilarious things in the game in any case like NEET machine or game debugging.
