McCree is most certainly not overpowered. While his skill ceiling is very high due to accuracy (headshot) factor, he isn't useful outside of his ult otherwise. Even then, there are several shields in the game that can counter it (Rein, Dva if close enough, Orisa, even Symettra if used right). McCree has to be close range in order to be fully effective, otherwise he's outclassed by multiple different attackers.

Yeah if the enemy tank is a fucking idiot who's nowhere near their team. If you're actually within a range where you can successfully blow up a tank with right click you should be dead. How is the rest of their team not shredding you at that point?

So you use what little movement he has as an offensive tool, with no way to reset the cooldown? At best you're getting one kill and then dying to everyone around them.
The only thing McCree is legitimately useful for is for killing someone trying to flank your team because they'll probably be alone. Outside of that, McCree can be outdone in nearly every other way.

Even then, you need los to charge up your meter, if someone doesn't smoke you out by then. Even then, there's a lot of tools available to shut down high noon easy like sleep, matrix, mei wall or the fuckton of barriers around
