Does this question really have to be asked? Sonic has NEVER been on par with Mario. I know it's funny to pretend they were 25 years ago, but come on.

Mario Odyssey should have better production values based on the fact that it has one gameplay focus versus 3 gameplay focuses.

What we've seen in terms of the 3D platforming of Mario Odyssey definitely looks good, whereas Classic Sonic's Green Hill Zone doesn't look all too neat, Modern Sonic's boost-to-win lacks interactivity or stage variety and Donut Steel's level revealed looks like something out of Sonic Colors.

I think Sonic Mania will be the better Sonic game personally, but Mario will have industry-grade polish to outshine both Sonic games.

My last Sonic game before I grew out of my autism teenage years was Sonic 3&k, then I played Generations after college. I never had an OC. If I honestly have to make an OC for this new game, because I'll play Mania and maybe Forces will be good too, I'll try to play as an electric hedgehog character.

Well, there are more people making things like Koopa, Boo, or Yoshi OCs than plumbers. There's not as many as Sonic, of course, but they do exist. Sonic attracts more people who would make OCs because he's "cool" in a more traditional sense than Mario, who is sort of goofy.

I know SMO will be better but I'm very optimistic for SF since I loved Unleashed/Colors/Generations and this looks like more of it but with a CaC and even more new gameplay.

Odyssey. I've always thought Mario games were superior but I did play Sonic 1 & 2 but the whole concept of speed doesn't have a lot of gameplay to it in my opinion. You're just fast which doesn't suit a platformer. If I want speed I could play racing games.
