It's okay. If this were a twitchy reflex game like a fighter or a MOBA you'd be at a disadvantage but with FFXIV you'll just have a fraction of a second less time to dodge stuff. You'll also have some more input lag as well but that only really matters for NIN's Mudra combos if you're trying to maximize DPS.

Ping is the time it takes for a message to travel from you to the server and back. The longer it is, the less time you have to react to shit in game since FFXIV's encounters are all server-side.

Always remember: if your computer and the server disagrees, the server wins (and you probably die).

Average party performance (as in, the effect ping has on performance) is still going to be bad except the players with bad ping are just inverted. It's a really weird situation because i don't think people will mass unsub since this game's biggest strenght is actually how the fanbase is relatively small but extremely dedicated. This mostly fucks over South American players i believe. Europeans can just transfer to an European server, people in the East coast will get ping in the 100-150 range but that's just negligible. South American players just got completely fucked over since there's too few of us for a dedicated SA server.
