Pretty tough for something to be actually perfect. Castlevania 3, for instance, has a lot of bullshit enemy placement and Castlevania had yet to really figure out stairs.
Still good though.

But the classicvania games live off of the "bullshit" enemy placement. You can't just run through these games, although successful solo speed runs with each of its characters have been a thing, because you as a player need to actually look for enemy patterns and understand them before going through them.

Fight you? But I agree, anon. This is the first game to make it to my all time top 5 since Dark Souls. It's truly a masterpiece.

You left out an important point about how great it is. It's literally a perfect sequel. It has its own identity but still has just enough call backs to the first, and the call backs are amazing, to still feel like a proper sequel. If you never played Nier 1 you won't even notice the references and won't know you're missing anything, but if you did the references are really beautifully done.
