why did you have to summon him
Just begin an end this thread with Earthbound

Maybe Dragon Quarter, but no.
The first Breath of Fire is one of the most unremarkable games I've ever played.

The second isn't really any better unless you like anatomically incorrect tigers.

"No, but it's comfy xD"
The very little amount of Breath of Fire 1 fans are so annoying.

I don't know about that, Breath of Fire is the definition of a mediocre unremarkable JRPG franchise. I'd expect "hipsters" to pick something more unique.

Pretty much every JRPG has some hipsterish vibe to their communities.
Everyone acts like their game is some special snowflake hidden gem that the plebs haven't recognized the brilliance of.
It fucking sucks. It sucks meaty dicks and it should stop.

Breath of Fire had one thing really going for it: it has a setting with a large number of different people and locations. You would go from a kingdom of flying bird people being hypnotized by a nearby tower, to wandering the sea floor to locate the underwater merchant city of fish people, to the underground caverns of a mole family. And unlike something like Final Fantasy, it wasn't the same castle sprites with roughly the same layout, just with different character sprites. The mole cavern was small with few characters, the sea bottom was huge and the merchant city a large market full of shops, and the bird city was very tall with constant climbing.
Past that, it didn't really have much. Sure, you could turn into a dragon (which was sort of a gimmick) but the combat was very bare bones. Magic didn't quite work as you might expect. And the story was as stereotypical as you might think.

Breath of Fire is the most paint-by-the-numbers JRPG I've ever played. It's so bland.
So you basically mean bad RPGs?

Did hipsters really only like Breath of Fire? I remember the 3rd one being pretty popular.
