It took me all the way until DaS2 NG+
to get good at rolling.
I was having trouble with Oreos and Smoothies so an anon suggested I use the Greatshield of Artorias. I became a shield fag all the way through NG+4.
It wasn't until I realized how piss easy some bosses were in DaS2 that I finally made the switch.

was there a luck scaling weapon in DaS1? i'm running a luck build with anri's straight sword and man-grub staff in DaS3. projectile spells for NPC enemies and farron flashsword for PvP

pyromancy is literally the only thing you need on a SL1 run. Eventually you can make a lightning reinforced club so you can do damage on quelaag and centipede demon. Otherwise, everything is weak to fire. Great combustion + dusk crown + bellowing dragoncrest + power within = easy mode
