I would recommend checking out Bellum Crucis as well if they translated the most recent version

For the steam version you mean?

Yeah. If you want to launch mods on the steam version you have to do a launch command in properties or do another roundabout way of launching games.

I don't mean to sound like an idiot, I'm not great with computers, how would I access that? I'm on Windows 10 if that helps

There should be something called windows explorer or file explorer in the start menu. Click on that and navigate to Program Files(x86) and look for Steam. Then go through steamapps/common/medieval 2 and there should be the files to modify with a text editor

changing the years per turn can still be done the same way as the disk version, its in one of the text files in the install folder.

remember kids, the best mod for medieval 2 total war is BELLUM CRUCIS.

Where can I find links to these mods so I can look at downloading these mods? And what do they do? I know of Third Age and Stainless Steel, one makes it LOTR themed other adds more settlements and other stuff
