Maybe it is because I liked Geometry Wars a lot when I was younger but I didn't find the flying / shooting segments of this game to be bad at all.

If anything I appreciated how the game smoothly transitioned from different types of gameplay while generally maintaining similar controls and feeling. The jet and mecha control just like an android except in the air. Same with the hacking.

If you don't like the shooting that pretty much means you don't like controlling the Pod when you are playing as an android which means you don't like half the gameplay in this game which means the game isn't for you.

And lets be realistic here, if you don't like shooting, what games do you like, because 99% of the gaming industry is FPS games or Dark Souls clones so I don't see what magical unicorn of a game has this incredible gameplay that is so damn amazing compared to NieR.

NieR has it's tedious moments but even at its worst it is no more of a slog than any modern FPS campaign mowing down mobs of faceless soldiers to get to the next area.

Come on guys, they're piss easy for a shmup. Most shmups don't even have a health bar, or recovery items. The only even remotely difficult one is that one for that ending.

Game was pretty decent up until the second playtrough. Playing through the same boring areas with 9S was dreadful but the third playthrough was pretty good. Pascal's village and fate was the most powerful moment in the game in my opinion, pretty sad ending to their story. No clue how the Eng VA handled Pascal but the JP VA had tons of emotions during the last bits

And during the game he is the one who always throws the nastiest insults towards machines, even friendly ones like Pascal. Also, Adam pretty much states that he has a surpressed side that is filled with hatred and is proven to be true during Route C (even before he is infected by the virus)

Finally, in the second part of the stage play, he goes full psycho, killing his fellows androids left and right, injuring #2 and even curb-stomping the closest thing he had to a father, thus, revealing his true nature as a cruel nihilist

Even 2B may have come to the same conclussion as us if one takes into account she told A2 that she wanted 9S to be "a good person". Furthermore, N2s very specific brand of "trolling" may have been an attempt to confront him about the fact that deep inside he even hates the things that are most dear to him (although for good reasons)

He didn't go mad during C, his mask just cracked from the pressure
