No one is ever going to prove either because portals aren't real and defy physics as we know them. While the moving portal is passing over the cube, the cube is both moving and stationary. The cube moves relative to itself. It makes no sense.

You're going to need to explain how quantum tunneling is at all related to the concept of portals.

>Quantun Physics defy physics.
No, they just often defy classical mechanics. Quantum physics are, unsurprisingly, physics.

>>377090796

So you talk shit but you don't know what you are talking about? Go play portal or at least google the actual name for the portal gun.

Also, you know damn well what I was talking about.
>>
>>377090067
While portals don't exist so it's impossible to test, if you know about frames of reference and transfer of momentum you can work it out in your head.

Imagine the point where the portal is moving over the stationary cube.
As part of the cube moves through the portal it has to push the part of the cube ahead of it forward to make room. So the speed of the moving portal is transferred to the cube.

So the cube would shoot out of the exit portal because it's being pushed from behind by itself.

It's an irrelevant question anyway because this system doesn't conserve momentum which is impossible

Look, I'm not going to go into detail just so you come up with something retarded as a reply, it's obvious all the knowledge you have on the subject came from dumbed down explanations.
>>
>>377090275
quantum is a blanket term for "poorly understood".
basically there's weird shit happening and they don't understand it.

I mean, I can describe the experiments and I have my own theories on the shit but if anyone acts like there's any definitive answers on it they're wrong.

anyways one thing that does seem to be fact is that almost everything in the entire universe seems to have a wave function attached to it.

No, like I said >>377091239, what's the point in explaining everything if you are not going to understand it, better yet, everything I could explain here is a few clicks away.

I did you a favor though, look at pic related and read, if you feel like it, google the name and read about it.
>>
>>377090974
>Go play portal or at least google the actual name for the portal gun.
Are you completely retarded?
They referenced some recognizable science jargon to make it sound sciency, therefore quantum tunneling has real world application in creating portals.
This is what you are telling me?
Fucking 9/10 bait. Got me good. I'm steaming mad.

>>377091067
I agree that out of the two options B seems the least retarded by a country mile, but neither really makes sense.
>>
>>377091251

No, that's youtube tier shit, obviously you are going to hear many people claiming that they understand Quantum Mechanics, sure there are some things that can't be proven, yet, but things such as Quantum Tunneling are observable and in fact, the reason chips can't be smaller or faster. It's a relatively new branch of science with a lot of room to grow, hence the confusion and disinformation.

this.

as the cube moves through the portal the part of it on the entry side pushes the part on the exit side with speed equivalent to that of the moving portal, so the box flies out.
It has nothing to do with quantum mechanics, and portals break physics so trying to apply conservation of momentum doesn't matter. Portals don't properly conserve momentum which is impossible in real world physics.

Want proof? Imagine two stationary portals, one at the ground and one 100ft in the air. Drop a box through the bottom portal, when the box comes out above you it has magically gained 100 feet of free potential energy for nothing.

anyway, back to webms

quantum tunnelling happens to super tiny particles, and while it's theoretically possible for any object of any size to quantum tunnel the half life of such an event is literally trillions of times the life of the universe.

So not only is it basically impossible for a companion cube to quantum tunnel while the universe is alive, it's also totally irrelevant to the question about moving portals.

I know what quantum tunneling is, it simply has no relation to the concept of portals, let alone the physics of a portal with one half moving and the other stationary.
This is the last reply you're getting out of me unless you come up with something new and amusing to say, rather than just "you guys won't understand quantum mechanics" over and over.

>>377091784

I never claimed it could be done IRL at a macro scale, this is the problem with such subjects, it's easy for people to misunderstand and get lost in the conversation.

Read through all of it again, one guy claimed portals aren't real, well they are, we have no way of reproducing what we see in the game, but the effect is real. That was the whole point, then people started with the same retarded shit as always.

Track width is indeed constant. There are banks on other tracks though. There is definetely banking going on. Also a lot of up and down which you need to pitch your nose up or down for as to not scrape the floor.
Check out Alaska. It's a bit more of a rollercoaster. Neptune tracks are mostly kept level because of the zero G space jumps.

It still looks pretty good, though. I'll pick it up if it's ever 15 dollarydoos.

Interesting. Will they do anything special for the 2048 port? Because that game could have really benefitted from a racebox feature.
>>
>>377096840
I believe all 3 games is integrated into one game seamlessly. So it's not just a home screen that boots into 3 games. Honestly the way 2048 could potentially be fixed up is the only reason why Omega Collection is worth any fan's attention since it's just Sony rehashing otherwise.
>>
>>377094273
if the piston with the portal is the only thing moving then the cube itself is not moving and has no kinetic energy, thus the only momentum it would have is the momentum a stationary object would gain upon appearing into existence at the point of the exit portal

slam the piston down as fast as you want, the box is just going to either slide down off the slope or stick to it depending on the friction involved
>>
>>377096965
Well yeah, other than the teams and 2048 it's effectively just HD/Fury again. Granted not many people owned a Vita to play its Wipeout game, but I'd definitely like some extras to get further incentive to get a PS4 and check it out.

Drop a roll of toilet paper above a dice, does the dice jump into the tube? Portals don't create momentum, they merely change its direction, everything else is real world physics.

You really think someone would do that, just pry apart the upper and lower singularity rings?
>>
>>377099671
portals are not real and don't conform to real world physics.
As anon above said, portals are capable of creating momentum out of nowhere even without moving. Put an object through a portal with the exit 100 feet in the air, and you just magically conferred a huge amount of gravitational potential energy to that object for no cost.

Put a water stream into a portal with the exit directly above, now add in a water wheel. Infinite energy from nowhere.

A bit more wipeout. Turning is quite tricky. No pickups though outside of one fixed one that should be turbo boost anyway at all times. It's also far faster than wipeout(disregarding muh zone 250,000 zone mode)
