Tribes Ascend was a fucking event.
They tried to fix the game a while ago and I gave it a go, but honestly, the game is pretty profoundly flawed.
I kind of get why they implemented flag drag, because without it, trying to be an interceptor was completely impossible. If they grab the flag at a billion sanics per hour then what is anyone supposed to do about it? Yeah, don't let that happen in the first place, but chasing the flag carrier is supposed to be exciting and... doable. Instead it just required a good sniper on every team. For that matter, some people might enjoy turtling but that sure as hell isn't "going fast" which is what Tribes' biggest marketing gimmick is supposed to be. The whole engineers and infiltrators fighting over generator rooms dimension felt underdeveloped. Combat in close quarters just felt unsatisfying. All in all I guess I can accept that the game didn't die exclusively because Hirez fucked it, though that has something to do with it.

I'm pretty certain the game wasn't even released yet, but I was assmad they fucked Bella up by changing the flag stand and then went ahead and just removed the map entirely because they were too dumb to balance it.
