Why do the Japanese not like fps games?

Japanese tend to play on consoles, and console FPS suck.

Common internet explanation is that they get motion sick easily.

More likely though is that the genre doesn't really have a foothold in their pop/otaku culture.

They seem to be pretty popular on NicoNico, though I guess that doesn't translate directly to sales or development.
