It's a very strange game. I don't know if I like it or hate it.
The visuals are such a mixed bag; some areas are well made and reminiscent of what I can only describe as Legacy of Goku 2, while others are weird like Sim's Castaway.
Same thing with the music.
The main cast is charming, and so is the storytelling, but when you leave your base of operations, the tone suddenly shifts.

It's like the developers didn't know what they wanted to make, so they mushed a bunch of incomplete ideas together.

Art style, music composition, and notably character designs are constantly clashing.
For example, the main cast are wacky characters that remind me of how people in Mother 3 would speak, but people in the islands that you encounter are extremely shallow and simple.

It's really something that you have to experience for yourself to understand what I mean. It becomes evident around the time that you leave the tutorial island.
