You just have to follow along and it's all right. It's in their best interest that you have a good experience and will recommend it to others after all.

Another funny thing is the children's reactions, since they're not very used to seeing foreigners they're very enthusiastic and wave at you and greet you in English, and they're very happy to be greeted back.

All in all I had a lot of fun and learned a lot about NK (from their perspective), and found it to be quite a unique experience.

There's a lot of hate for the American government in particular, since they believe South Korea is controlled by America and it's America who's fighting against the unification of the Koreas.

It felt a bit like when children go to the zoo and do stuff to get the animal's attention, for example I saw multiple times children shouting "Hello" at me from their balconies and hiding as soon as I looked up, and most giggled when I waved back.

I don't know, in general it felt like they separated the government from its people, like us being victims of our own governments. Oh yeah, there was a lot of propaganda in how everything was presented. Their no photos policy is largely because they don't want you taking pictures of the uglier parts of the city and country, but as soon as you land there it's like you've traveled back 30 years.

They bring you to their big buildings and make emphasis on how they are the biggest in the world, and they also bring you to their ultra modern (and empty, as in there were 0 patients of doctors) hospital with these machines they've "received as a gift" from Switzerland.

I don't think the children were plants, but some people definitely felt like they were plants. They let me speak with one "random" student when we went to their university, and the way he spoke definitely felt like he'd learned his speech very well.

We also went to have dinner to a different restaurant every night, and we never saw any locals having dinner as well. But when we went to any museums they were full of locals who "had taken their day off" to visit and learn about the Kims.
