I'm playing G2 for the first time, how the fuck does a world from 2003 manage to feel more intertwined and alive than most game worlds today? Decided on becoming a merc although I haven't joined yet.

Is it possible to make a 1H+Bow character or is that too wide? And is it possible to join both the Ring of Water and the Guild of Thieves? Cause I joined the thieves and now I;m afraid that I've locked myself out of the stone tablets.

No you dumbfuck, everyone knows the mechanics. The webm is a complain about how unintuitive the combat is. The action-based movement makes you think that you -the player- controls the outcome of the battle by actively evading and hitting the opponents, when it's actually entirely based on your character's stats and powers. This means that when you VISIBLY hit the target, you expect that the game COUNTS it as a hit, not just make the enemy evade it based on some arbitrary, unintuitive combat system.

Yup, there are few swords (only 2 I believe) DEX based swords. One of them is rapier (high dex requirement, wielded by thieves guild members) and I don't remember the name of the second one, but it required less dex than rapier.

Then the webm does a poor job of illustrating that complaint, since it's an example of the player actively playing poorly rather than having just shitty stats. That weapon does 28 damage on a successful hit, which would be reduced to 22 if you have the absolute minimum possible Strength you can start the game with. A Mudcrab has 15 health. He hits the Mudcrab 3 times and still dies. This isn't because his character is weak. It's because he never fully swung the weapon, choosing to lightly tap the crab instead of smashing it in a single hit.

Except that damage is not the main complaint: it's how the combat is displayed. He was visibly hitting the mudcrab multiple times, yet only 3 of his hits counted as "hits". The "accuracy stat" has little to no pertinence with what's actually going on in the screen. All the "skill" the player needs is that he needs to know to keep his character's fatigue full and to fully swing, and neither of those are difficult to learn. After that, the main determining factor of victory is the "accuracy" stat and the character's overall stats, as regardless of how well rested your character is and regardless if he's fully swinging or not, you're not going to hit anything if you don't level up that accuracy, even if the screen shows you're hitting the targets. The movement is action-based, but 90% of the outcome of any battle is determined by your stats and skills, which is unintuitive.

I've done all three on separate playthroughs and Telvanni is by far the best. Redoran's all about "muh tradition" yet failed to uphold the most important ancient Dunmer tradition by submitting to the Tribunal's reformations. Yet here they are whining about abolitionists and living in bugs for no reason other than the fact that it's always been that way. Hlaalu are simply corrupt to the core, and you are too if you join and rank in them. It's not even like real-life politics where nearly every faction has its share of idealists and politicals: every single fucking Hlaalu you interact with is a backstabbing cunt except for Ilmeni Dren who is only a member by blood.

Plus building your Telvanni stronghold is the only way to get a restocking supply of supreme domination scrolls.
