>>377042460
he fell in love and didn't keep the bitch on a leash. of course he fucked up
>>377042460
Really don't get why everyone is obsessed with that questline. Probably every single quest in Witcher 3 is so dull and not memorable, that it's the only thing people remember at all. A fat drunkard who happens to be a warlord of criminal scum, who beats his wife and hangs himself after she leaves him.
It's like watching a mexican tv drama. The lowest quality content imaginable.

>omitting the undead monster foetus

That was his wife's doing.
>>377042842
I agree, I didn't find the Blood Baron quest line nearly as good as Internet made it out to be.
>>377043307
I did it too. Thought i did the right thing when the crones appeared and turned out to be disgusting roasties.
>>377043362

Yeah, I think this quest really highlights how easily impressed journos are when video games try to be movies.

What I like about this quest is that both the Baron and his wife fucked up. Most domestic abuse stories is always an unreasonable, irate husband and a wife trying her best to make a decent casserole but this time you a man who waded through all kinds of messed up shit, becoming a war hero in the process, just to return home and find his wife unapologetically banging some childhood friend. The Baron should not have killed him, but the wife shouldn't have abandoned him and later taunted him into drunken rages as often as possible.

> easily impressed journos
Friendly reminder that Witcher 3 had more money spent on marketing than on W1 + W2 development budgets combined.
>>377042842
Honestly the only part that bummed me out was the physical reveal of the Crones. I preferred them ominous, creepy, and left up to my imagination
>>377043464
>a man having sex with his wife

>>377043639
Gravity Rush wasn't that great.
The ladies of the wood theme was the best part about the questline
>>377043851
>Left up to my imagination
but they werent. We were already shown a painting of them before their physical reveal.
The entire time i was doing the quest i imagined them as the beautiful women on that, and it felt really out of place. I got quite relieved when i saw how they actually looked desu.
>>377043740
This. They both became prisoners of their own bitterness. The real victims were the two children.
>>377043740
>two
Are you including the dead one in their or have i missed something?
>>377044429

You actually thought that's what they really looked like?

Before their transformation, why wouldnt i?
Besides, it was the only reference to their appearence we'd gotten so it really isnt that weird,

>>377042460
He really didn't. Man goes to a shitty war and comes home to find his wife was fucking somebody else the entire time and wants to leave with his child. As much shit as people give the Baron, his wife was just as bad.
>>377045781
He even said something along the lines of "She really knew how to pinch and squeeze" if I recall and this struck a chord with me.
>>377043523
A lot of video games "try to be movies." What really hit people emotionally with the Witcher, particularly in regard to this quest line, is that the game's interactivity allowed the player to basically cause the Baron's death and have either his or that of a group of childrens' blood on their hands. This is something a movie, in which the viewer is the passive recipient, cannot do.
Honestly, people who don't care about the writing in video games might as well just be outside playing a sport.

>Probably every single quest in Witcher 3 is so dull and not memorable, that it's the only thing people remember at all
None of the reviews that roped me into buying the Witcher 3 even mentioned the Baron quest (Gamespot's did showcase Towerful of Mice, though and mentioned how almost every quest isn't just a contract or fetch quest but someone's personal tragedy; they were entirely correct on this account). Anyway, he hangs himself after his wife dies.

I was disappointed with that outcome but at least he gets some peace.
