Pick a few characters you like, learn their movesets, learn the basic fundementals of the Tekken combo system. you could emulate any tekken and still get potentially better at T7; T5, TT, T6 are good options.

a lot of strings, commands, and properties are the same or very similar across all of tekken, but actually more important is just learning to move around and defend yourself. the idea of backdash cancel might seem complicated but its not really. if you simply mash backstep you will see a long delay in between steps, but if you cancel the animation into a sidestep you will essentially be neutral and ready to block/backdash again. i think soul caliber felt kinda similar, i can't remember.

I bought dead or alive 5 on steam. My first (and last arcade fighting game). I put in 40 hours, beating pc on ai4 was too fucking easy and ai5 was unbeatable.

Finished tutorial, picked the girl from it as my main and finished combo challenges with her. To this day i cant comprehend why would anybody put cirle and similiar inputs to a combo. Maybe to filter casual like me out?

Then i found out that online is dead and even when i find somebody, i wasnt even able to touch him. Would appreciate some mode where your character has like 30x more health so you as a newbie can learn how to deal with some spam from enemy.

As i see it, dead gendre. Not dead like adventures or strategies which can at last be fun offline. But these?

Some games (from few years back to this day) are released with no proper compression on music, video, textures and other game files, resulting in like 10 times bigger data than would be neccessary. Feng Wei is based on more arrogant wuxia movie characters, his moves comes from a lot of Jet Li roles.

Anyway, character wise he doesn't have much packing, he is a ruthless martial artist that is constantly training to surpass his limits, in Tekken 5 he sets off to find some Dragon Scroll that is said to contain ultimate techniques he desires.

Feng's master is against him having the scroll, Feng fights his master to go on his quest, Feng kills his master in the fight's outcome, he then hears the scroll might be in possession of the Zaibatsu family, he sets off to the Tekken tournament to find it,

On the side Feng is also fond of Dojo Breaking, the action of going to martial arts temple / gym / household to challenge the place's master, if he wins he gets to steal the place's wood sign, that shit is serious business, a dojo's sign is like the dojo's whole pride, Feng fuck's Asuka's father up in a fight, winning their sign on the process, that's how Asuka gets her beef against Feng.

Anyway, turns out Feng doesn't win the tournament, his master apparently didn't die and is one very forgiving chap, he doesn't hold a grudge for Feng going for the kill and welcomes his pupil back with open arms; that's it for Feng's "lore" in Tekken 5, in Tekken 6 and TT2 he just keeps training and Asuka keeps trying to get her sign back to no avail as she can't defeat Feng.

tekken is such a boring looking game, I don't get how anybody can enjoy it unironically
