MNK is a meme, but Stormblood is coming up so they might be in a better spot. With how easily you can change roles, your first class doesn't really matter outside of affect your starting city and various flavor text. Once you reach 15 or so, you can pick up other classes.

Despite being a meme, MNK is actually not that far off from the other melees and is an easy class to raid with just because their rotation is unchanged from 50 to 60. In general, MNK is around 5-10% behind DRG/NIN.

Savage/Extreme content won't be available on release because Yoshi don't want people rushing the story to get first world clears and shit like that, they will probably be unlocked in a patch between 4.0 and 4.1. You have enough time max a bunch of crafters with moogle quests alone before SB is released, and then you can max stuff like ALC and CUL as the last ones in case you don't max all of them before early access.
Yoshi also is pretty adamant about making the specialist system more important, so expect specialist-exclusive recipes and bullshit gimmicks that will force you to focus on only 3 jobs.

WAR has comparatively lower heavy cds compared to PLD/DRK but consider the fact that Raw Intuition will almost always be paired with Berserk for triple cleave. In essence, WAR only has Vengeance/Holm. IB is obviously good if the WAR decides to be a dedicated MT but they lose a ton of potency by IBing over Fell Cleaving, more so than PLD/DRK.

So yes, while WAR can handle any situation well, they lose the most by having to do so. For Magic tankbusters, DRK pops their 1 minute 30% res cd and doesn't need to hold stacks. For Physical tankbusters, Sheltron is an incredible cd and more or less invalidates any solo phys hit in the game. WAR doesn't have that sort of cd and needs tankswaps with Vengeance/Holm to be in any way competitive with DRK/PLD in mitigation.

As for why there's such a discrepancy, MCH benefits more from the phase pushes in Creator in general due to their heavy burst setups. BRD beats MCH on a dummy but the dps is equalized when groups make use of group cd stacking. Since BRD is """"non-meta"""", they probably get used more in suboptimal groups.
