A good, non pay to win, online card game

as the subject says, can anyone suggest a good online card game in which you can at least realistically farm cards without paying? Hearthstone, Magic Duels, Elder Scrolls Legends, they're all' basically the same (money-grabbing wise), in all of them I just can't have fun unless I spend money. Suggestions?

Shadowverse

The game gave me 5 packs for no reason today. I think you get 50+ packs now if you start playing because there is no time-limit on the offers. Also the singleplayer offers lots of money, take two tickets and vials. Then there are your Missions (Hearthstone-quests) + Achievements + Score Reward. Score Reward is based on your ranking, kinda like the end of the month bonus in HS, but instead you get it immediately and there is so much more every month instead of whatever it was HS gave you... like a pack and 15 gold? Whatever.

And I read that the main reason why the SV-devs do this is because they rely mostly on "whales" aka fanatic people who wants to buy all the extra art for the game etc so the average player can just play for free forever...

Kripp made a good video about how to get as much as possible for free in the most effective way you can.

>>
>>377016293
Shadowverse is f2p friendly.
However currently it's worse than Hearthstone.
>>
Funny, I just finished Hearthstone's tutorial missions earlier today. I can see why people like it, but it hasn't really grabbed me yet.
>>377016293
Any Yu-Gi-Oh online game that lets you use any cards you want.
>>
>>377017065
prepare to cash out a minimun of 50 bucks every time there's a new expansion unless you like to get your ass destroyed in ranked
>>
>>377016293
I am playing Faeria now, I can´t say much about grinding and stuff, but I played it for 3 hours, stopped playing, came back and had so 20k. Now I almost have one of the op decks.
>>
I love Duelyst.
Now if only it would get ported to Android...
>>
>>377017487
Try 100 plus, recently be revealed it costs around 450 bucks for a full collection per expansion.
>>
Hard mode:
No braindead, casualised MtG clones with gimmicks stapled on to give the illusion of depth or originality.
>>
>>377019167
please someone...answer!!!!!!!!

Yugioh is links, pokemon has a great tcgo but you need do pay money for a good deck, they will also bring a new app.

Force of Will sounds great but we will get nothing.
>>
>>377016293
Faeria
Posting this while listening to Phil Colins.
>>
>>377016293
I like TESL, seems good and more affordable than HS, the artstyle rubs me in a better way too but the game is not as polished as HS tho but i like it more I think
>>
>>377019167
Duelyst gets almost chess-like with its board.
The RNG cards got severely nerfed after fan backlash (Meltdown, a not-Ragnaros who could also attack, had its cost increased and stats/ability nerfed, so now it's not playaed outside of memes)
>>
>>377019067
wtf
>>
>>377019749
how is it for beginners?

>>377019686
will faeria get better after a while?
>>
>>377019831
>will faeria get better
Been playing it on and off for a month and it hasn't gotten worse. It gives you more tactical options as you acquire cards if that's what you mean.
>>
>>377019749
I haven't touched it since the beta. Also:
>Mana system copy pasted from magic
>Spells split into factions or colors
>Not a fucking Magic Clone
Also last I played it it was Aggro: The Digital Card game and that doesn't appeal to me.

>>

>how is it for beginners?
In terms of cards needed, not too bad. You'll lose a few games starting out, but that's because you don't yet know how to position and play cards/replace in the right order, not because you have bad cards.
Some of the less expensive factions, e.g. Lyonar, can get pretty far with just knowing how to play well (and can still get boosted severely from packs)
>>
>>377016293
TESL doesn't require money investment if you are willing to put in time. Play arenas, finish daily quests, and after you have a fairly competitive deck just ladder and hoard gold to unlock expansions.
>>
>>377020030
Aggro is powerful, but there's always combo and control decks, especially since the last expansion.
Best to just try it out.
>>
>>377016293
Shadowverse but its pretty shitty with the latest expansion

I hate Duelyst for doing this like this.
>>

why what happened?

>>377019930
well I am >>377017880

I have now a fire/grass thing with the guy who let´s you teleport and the grass/fire toad with the dragon. Just missing the rat boy.

>>377020178
I am actually interested in this game, but I am not a huge fan of hearthstone mechanics, but it could be ok, if it´s actually more tactical like. Can I grind good offline?
>>
>>377020478
Well, this card doesn't get played.
Unless that's what you mean? A lot of cool looking cards are too slow
>>
>>377020597
Couple decks have near a 60% winrate so they just steamroll the fuck out of everything, just a badly balanced expansion.
>>
>>377020427
>>
>>377020685
>offline
Nah, after reaching lvl 10 with a faction you stop getting exp from AI.
I dunno what card games allow AI grinding, tho
>>
>>377020764

no, I mean putting in random e-celeb self-insert shit just because they advertise their dying game
>>
>>377020796
badly balanced expansion -> everyone buys the expansio -> profit

Blizzard got this a long time ago
>>
>>377020861
well the offline was kinda stupid. I meant can I grind for boosters easy? I don´t want to spend money.
>>
>>377020962
and now Blizzard is reaping the rewards of that strategy by having a playerbase that is full on speeding to death.
>>
>>377016293

I've been having a lot of fun with the shardbound alpha this past week. It plays a lot like duelyst before it fucked itself but the movement plays a much bigger role becasue stuff like height and line of slight matters.

A lot of the art is placeholder and you sometimes get dropped from games for seemingly no reason but it's pretty fun.

You're in the wrong genre. Card games are all about your card pool and you pay to get a bigger card pool.
>>
>>377016605
>Shadowverse

Weebshit, so nah
>>
>>377021078
well, Hearthstone still seems to be the most played online card game in competitive. I mean you can't blame them, they were "just" trying to steal a portion of Mtg's market, which is disgustingly overpriced as well

Holy fuck Solforge is still alive? Power Creep/P2W; The Game
>>
All TCG and CCGs are pay to win. That's the Buisness model.

Unless every player has access to all the possible cards, it's P2W.
>>
>>377016293
Duelyst is good, not really a card game but similar concept
>>
I've been playing the Pokemon TCG but christ
>all those starter challenges with shit decks
>>
>>377021608
well, it would me more instructive to see statistics to show how much other card games are played as well. People are playing Hearthstone less, too bad for the company, it's still played a lot it seems
>>
>>377016293
Honestly, just get autism and start to grind.
>>
>>377020973
You get a pack a day if you do both your quests and at least 1 game you play ends in a win.
Packs are 5 cards, the rarity drops are pretty good. (Well, two latest expansions use a different model, but it's okay. It guarantees you don't get duplicates)
>>
Krosmaga
>>
>>377022991
alright I will start with it anon.
>>
Another vote for Shadowverse. I've been a F2P player the whole time and I have all the cards.
>>
>>377022729
Like most things there are degrees to it. I mean a perfect example is >>377021664 >>377022042 Solforge. In the game every new card literally made every card that came before it objectively useless and most of said objectively better cards were on the rarest rarity. Synergy didn't matter, deckbuilding didn't matter, playing the game better than the opponent didn't matter all that mattered was having the latest legendary.

Not even tabletop card games are this bad.
>>
>>377016293
Is the same with the real games, you will never have fun if you don't invest money.
>>
>hearthstone
>not pay2win

All online card games are shit
Play simulators of real TCGs instead like MtG or Yugioh or the other weeb TCGs

Am I going to be stomped by high level players if I try SV now? not OP btw.

gwent is the poe of online cards game

Ok, /v/. GWENT: y/n
>>
>>377023502
Gwent is much harder a F2P grind than TESL.
>>
>>377023687
Never played TESL, translate that to me in Hearthstone terms.
>>
>>377023282
which game is that? Also english/european version?

>>377023687
what do you mean?
>>
>>377024128
WIXOSS
It's Japanese only
>>
>>377023890
Elder Scrolls Legends. You finish the story missions, finish daily quests, and use those gold amounts for arena drafts to get more gold (for more arena) crafting gems, and packs to build collection. Practice mode with a fast deck gives crafting gems, and ladder will help you get additional gold after three wins (takes a lot to reach daily cap).

>>377024128
Gwent takes forever to get resources for packs to improve your decks.
>>
>>377024235
I see, thanks anon.
