I was bored the other day and decided to watch gameplay of some JRPGs, not knowing much about them. Now, I don't like RPGs in general and have only played Witcher and Deus Ex.

Nearly every time in JRPGs:

The graphics are terrible, obnoxious art-styles

Really sparse, simplistic and poorly written dialogue and almost non-existent choices, and I actually thought DX and Witcher have relatively low freedom in choices

Packed with childish/cringeworthy elements

Annoying, grating and simplistic music

And the one that surprised me the most, there's all this perpetual talk about "waifus" and "best girl" etc etc surrounding Japanese games but Witcher 3 actually has a more developed romance system than JRPGs
