CSGO actually had a pretty good ranking system for a team based game. It calculated shit like the rank of the person you killed, the rank of people that killed you, and based a lot of it on personal performance. I had a lot of rank ups off of tie games and one time I went on an 8 game losing streak because of shitty team mates and deranked, then I won like 2 or 3 games and I gained my rank right back.

It ain't perfect, but after seeing other systems I really dig it. It also supposedly calculates shit each round, so dropped games still largely count.

If you don't have a team that properly covers areas then shit gets real fucky in CS. Granted you can get a full radar and see exactly what your team isn't covering, and you should have a rough idea of how long it takes the enemy reach a certain point on the map from their spawn, but still it definitly ups the degree of difficulty and the fact that every fire fight will probably leave you slightly wounded doesn't help.

I once had a POTG were I ulted on 5 enemies at once, then pinned them in a row and killed 4 of them near instantly. I was the only person on the cart and I damn near single handed held back the entire enemy team. Shit felt good.
