Almost every fucking mod on the planet deletes and replaces existing files, that's what mods are.

Some like ReShade even inject their own code into executables and libraries. It's just in this case it triggered pirates.

Even happened on legit copies and to me when I family shared it with a buddy.

It was years ago long before Nier Automata.
But I still remember when he admitted that Denuvo in its virtual machine runs some exploit allowing it to run some admin level code without your consent.

But when people responded by saying that's total bullshit for some DRM to be able to do, he threw a real hissyfit going on and on about how even though Denuvo technically could execute some really serious and malicious code, Denuvo would totally never ever, ever do that because Denuvo are totally good guys and everyone should trust them.

And when asked whether or not it wouldn't be stupid to trust Denuvo on that, especially since they're already treating everyone as potential criminals, he just got upset and just pretty much repeated his claim that Denuvo are good guys and that they would never do such a thing and have no reason do anything to your computer even though they would be fully capable.

There is an odd glitch that I have after playing for several hours in a single sitting. The game starts to do weird things like giving me a quest update alert several times over an extended period even though its actually finished, culminating in the current character just stopping in place every now and then. Not a loss of connection from the controller; 2B is just frozen until I let go and try moving again. If I try to keep playing beyond this point it is liable to CTD.

At least its kind of lenient though, performance of the rest of the game is as stable as it can be even if I start doing the hammertime. Saving at that point and restarting the game saves me the trouble of a hard CTD.
