What did /v/ think of this game?

It's fucking great. Beautifully animated, great music, interesting mechanics throughout, the world design feels like a sidescroller Zelda. I honestly don't have a bad thing to say about it, aside from maybe that Ori's attacks make combat feel a little dull.

I like the effort, I just can't get into its setting or atmosphere. Trying really hard to play more and I'm just feeling bored most of the time and I usually love metroidvanias.

Not really. It's just an extra area added to the map and reshuffled collectibles. But most importantly they added the ability to backtrack to collect previously permanently missable things in the elemental temples and such.

Neo /v/ is killing me.

One of my favourite games of all time, my only gripe is that I didn't have to use the gravity cubes at the ice temple untile the collectables because I could just spam Grenage-Bash-Dash-Triple Jump-Feather to get around instead of figuring out the puzzle.

You can make your own checkpoints every 10 meters if you need to.

Yeah, and for a good reason. I'm sorry, but while being a good game overall, the controls weren't tight enough for it to be a good platformer. It was quite arrogant of devs to even put a permadeath mode in the game.

Great game and I enjoyed it, despite not being a big fan of platformers
Git gud sequences were fun, though I remember a lot of whining about them

Good except for the Kuro segments, which were massively disappointing.
The game's platforming was absolutely amazing, but it felt like there was nothing to test it against. Some traditonal boss fights incorporating the platforming elements would have turned the game into a 10/10 for me
