The XP bonuses for first time completion help a nice bit through 10-40. Especially since you get a first time bonus for every class.

Its always a PLD that tanks all mobs all around him or just running between mobs frantically so they cant block or parry they just seem to take more damage than normal and they always lose aggro making me waste my DPS healing everybody.

Playing healer is stupid and there is no reason to unless you have a tank thats a friend. I normally don't tank in MMOs but I had WAR and PLD leved to 60 a while back and I wondered why. Pro fucking tip 1-2 a mob and 3 you hit another mob with and you can spread your emnity evenly. If your healer is DPSing stay in tank stance on mobs removal of that 15% penalty will never make up the damage a decent healer can do. You can freely switch stances on bosses with defensive CDs.

Leveling should never feel like it's slowing down your game progression. Its purpose should be to provide a feeling of growth.

In FFXIV, after your first class, you just run through PotD repeatedly for hours on end, assuming that you don't like wasting time. You don't even get a feeling of progress out of it, since your PotD character shoots through the levels, while your normal game character sits on the back burner, except for the first 15~ levels and then to briefly to grab the job crystal.

What really gums up the works are passive buffs like Disembowel.

Monk (the worst, least useful DPS currently in the game) would be totally balanced against Dragoon (the best, most irreplacable DPS currently in the game), if Monk just had their own damage, and Dragoon had their own damage plus Battle Litany. But as soon as the Dragoon starts buffing a Machinist and/or Bard, there's no way for Monk to ever keep up.
