I think a big issue is that back in the day the big games that made all the noise are what people liked, while nowadays its usually smaller titles/games from smaller stuidos that tend to steal the most of my time.

Like, my list here from the 2000-2009 era is mostly big name studios, whereas I'd say indies dominate atleast half my 2010-2017

Honestly, imho, the weakest year for video games was 2006. Every console was being replaced, and new technology being learned. It was the weakest year.

Fallout NV, Red Dead, SM Galaxy 2, AC New Leaf are most of what I enjoyed early decade.

Witcher 3 and Persona 5 are the most recent games I've enjoyed. The quality games feel fewer and futher betweent han they were last decade, but I will say Persona 5 is some of the most fun I've had in a while. It has restored a bit of my hope.

It has a lot of flaws, as is expected with an Obsidian game. Bugs/Glitches. But the writing is good and makes for a fun spy adventure with some of the best design when it comes to meaningful choices.

Combat is meh. You start out shit, turn into badass.

So I thought too until I played it with a friend, like it's supposed to be played. The whole thing transforms in an unbelievable manner. It's still not a well-made game, but it's definitely a grand and very memorable and worthwhile as fuck experience.
