Different games have different budgets, even within the same genre or between games of similar scope. Just because Bloodborne is the quintessential Single PS4 Game to people online doesn't change that it's not a AAA game (which is determined by budget, not quality or popularity). Nioh isn't either, but we can't know that Koei Tecmo's budget wasn't larger. There is also the matter of how the budget is distributed. Some studios will value high quality character models, and it makes sense for Nioh because the game has fully animated cutscenes with characters interacting with one another, something Fromsoft's games lack. Even if From had the money to make higher quality character models, they may still shy away from doing so because it just isn't how they have historically allocated resources.

The Dark Souls games are published by Bandai Namco, they also own the IP. They no doubt get the lion's share of the profits. Bloodborne was From Software working with Japan Studio, a different publisher, and the game was expected to be even more niche than it actually ended up, so it isn't like it has Dark Souls money behind it.

I just hope as someone who truly likes Nioh, Koei can build of the fondation they built in the eventual sequel.
More enemy variety, more diserfied enemy placement and so on.

Why can't people like both Ni-oh and Bloodborne without flinging shit at each other?

I feel like BB is the superior game as it's a bit moe innovative and the scenario is just amazing. It does have its flaws like the second half being weaker than the first (like every other Souls game) and some performance issues

Ni-oh has amazing gameplay and the performace is pretty decent even on the regular PS4, but it suffers from Team Ninja's "Let's make some things really fucking hard for no reason" and poor enemy variety
