I played most of the quest multiple times, finished the major quest mods and played through warrior, mage and thief at least twice each.

I'm intimately acquainted with all of Skyrim's faults and can no longer tolerate them. Most mods that fix the faults also add at least one thing that I also consider a fault. And reinstalling all my mods to fix errors that have developed over the course of installing hundreds would take too long.

I recently switched over to a new computer and just copied over mod manger, added some of the stuff that needs to be in the skyrim folder, and did 10 to 20 mins of bug fixing and it was good to go again.

It really amazed me and on top of that my mod heavy build almost never crashes anymore.

Guild quests are absolute shit. I can deal with the main quest being shit, I dealt with the Civil War being shit, but when it finally dawned on me how utterly crap the guild quests were (I had completed the Companions at the time, started the Mages' College a bit and was doing the Thieves' Guild) I just quit and went to the Nexus desperate for something to fix those fucking things. When I came up empty, I just gave up on the whole game. Nothing in that game was compelling at all and if they even fuck up the guild quests, then you know nothing else would be worth slogging through.

Which ENB you use? Did you tweak it where you gain performance but don't lose graphic quality? There's a few really useful tricks.

Because on 13 separate occasions I've spent 3-4 days straight collecting mods and trying to make them work together perfectly. Sometimes it happens, but after finishing the modding I always lose interest in the game part after 30 minutes and question why I ever spent so much time trying to fix a terrible game. Other times I'll get frustrated at things not working or conflicting with no obvious solutions short of creating a new compatibility mode and I'll give up.

I'd like to try doing this with Oblivion for nostalgia purposes, but that game is even more unstable. I'd also like to try Morrowind since I've never actually played it (I'm 22), but there aren't really any mod guide/recommendation resources around for that.

It's a shitty game even with tons of mods, but those mods make it somewhat tolerable to play, and every now and then I get the itch to play it again
And after a while I realize the game is still garbage, so I uninstall it
And then I install it again later when the vicious cycle begins anew

What skin textures?

Do any of you have any experience modding with Oblivion?
Skyrim looks better but the gameplay is just plain worse, not sure what sort of variety there are to sex mods in oblivion though.

I think with the right mods Skyrim has better gameplay. Where Oblivion excels is the quests, at least in my opinion. The only thing I can think off that I really miss from Oblivion's combat is being able to cast spells with a two-handed weapon out at the same time.

Yeah the quests are much better, and that contributes to gameplay. Skyrim has a bit better melee combat, but there's nothing else to do and the game ends up feeling really flat because of it, Oblivion is the other way around.

I'd like gameplay with sexmods on the side, not the other way around.

No it's not. vanilla Oblivion is fucking unplayable compared to vanilla Skyrim. Things are greatly mended with OOO though.

And this is coming from someone who started with Oblivion and still loves it the most out of all TES games to this day. Oblivion is also less stable when modded but you can make it work.
