RS2 is basically inches from release and it's currently being mocked and torn apart by players. It's easily the most unbalanced, mechanically broken, and plain unfun shooter I've played since Warface. And they want $30 for it.

No vehicles except helis, too many roles with no purpose, weapons that are either too good or too useless, hit detection problems that most games fix in alpha (try shooting over the side of a ditch or a wall), weapon models that take up 50% of the screen, AIDS-tier vaulting: it's like they rook RO2 and intentionally made it worse.

Enjoy zero teamplay and the thrill of getting shot from 100+ meters away by someone laying at the edge of the playing area doing nothing but waiting to get kills.

By the way, spawns don't dynamically change except for a few maps, so enjoy getting shot, then having to run 300-500m to get to the point, repeated endlessly in each match

Only one map is any good and people desperately try to vote away from any others, the most notorious being Hill.

Is RS2 Tripwire's last game? Are they fucked? This feels like a zero-effort cashgrab rushed out as a reskin mod of RS1.

This is what I hate about games, nobody would ever point their gun straight at a wall. They would lift it up over the obstacle, but for some reason you can't do this.

2 things they need to do would.
Allow helis to play music from a players personal folder and maybe put radio around the map playing that shit.

Or go full on realism: remove hud, remove global voip(except for radiomen) and only allow local of both allies and enemies, give limited ammo, limited re spawns forcing careful movement

Yeah, music is what makes this game more fun than RS/RO2. I like the fact they made guns less deadly so you actually have a better chance to run for cover. It makes chasing/pursuing enemies as a squad, fun experience. Also, idk why they added "Woodstock vision." Seriously useless and just gives me motion sickness.

It is a collision issue. In RO2/Rising Storm, you can't shoot into a wall you are right up against. The soldier lowers his weapon if there is not enough room to aim it. That tells you if the barrel is obstructed by the thing in front of you.

In Rising Storm 2 it doesn't do this. There is definite collision detection issues that they need to fix.

I'm really enjoying the game but these are legitimate problems in the game.

As for maps, Hue has a problem that objective Charlie is too difficult to take. As for the two "supremacy" mod maps, the problem is the game mod, not the map design. The supremacy mod is just shitty. It spreads out the fighting and makes a 64 man match feel like a 16 man match.

If that is happening it is the fault of the Squad Leaders not doing their job. It's part of the game and is how Red Orchestra 2 and Rising Storm are.

The game is fun but it's nowhere near in a release type state. The problem is I know tripwire won't do what they say they will, the game won't change from its current form if it gets full release. Sounds are fucked, there's a lack of content like vehicles and maps, and a lot of other issues that need to be addressed.

Out of all these recent historical fps's released im enjoying this game a lot! Put a crap ton of hours into insurgency but day of infamy is pretty lack luster and feels empty. That being said the gun sounds in that game are orgasmic. The map design in this game is so refreshing, the health of player balancing on either a few hits or 2 well placed shots is really a nice touch. Seriously ive stopped a player dead with a 9mm in 1 shot to the chest, versus that clip of ak i blasted into some dude. Really emphasizes accuracy but at the same time suppression plays a big deal. The depth is all here, they just need to tweak balancing and the game will be amazing.

No, guns aren't magic, they are fucking physical objects you hold with two hands to manipulate and aim effectively.
Yet in a video game, you can't raise your body and the weapon a mere inch or two to make it physically clear the obstacle; no, you have to go from "crouch" to "stand" and expose your whole body to shoot over it in a video game.

Projectiles being offset to emulate "coming from the barrel" are a stupid gimmick that only fucks with players who only have very limited control over the movement and posture of their character model. It makes sense in a tank which is exactly what you get control-wise, but not something as complex as human locomotion when the game doesn't give you anywhere near that level of nuance.

If you aren't going to implement useful functions like stance variations, barrel collision detection and smooth leaning so that your barrel clearing an obstacle is a natural thing, make the projectiles come from your camera, right down the sights. Fucking mods of UT99 have done that kind of shit forever ago.
