If someone managed to completely remove Denuvo from a game, this would've been big news, but I don't see it mentioned anywhere. Every cracked Steam game in existence uses a Steam emulator (usually in a form of a custom steam_api.dll file) to make it work without the Steam client.
Baldman's crack does the same thing, but it uses SmartSteamEmu that is a separate application instead of a single .dll, that serves the same purpose.

Prey.exe in the 1.02 patch is v1.0.1.0 while the Baldman's exe is v1.0.0.0. It still works, but you should be aware that you're not playing a real v1.02, because you're downgrading the main executable to v1.0.

The Syberia 3 one was a mistake by the developers, plus it was the x86 version. CPY and Baldman are cracking(bypassing, whatever) the legit x64 V4. And it's worth reminding that this V4 Denuvo was supposed to be this supreme uncrackable DRM. So even if Baldman found an exploit in V4 and his method won't work in V3 or a future V5, the situation still fine, because we know CPY can crack V4 using their classic method which has worked in every single version of Denuvo and will likely continue working in a possible V5 version.

That is really entirely up to you. Don't worry too much, because the game kinda showers you with mods mid game, it's pretty easy to get the most of the skills later on anyway.
Suit upgrades are fine as you'll encounter less frustration with your inventory being constantly filled, movement upgrades will make you zap around very fast, but I feel like they are actually kinda overpowered. In fact a lot of the mods are kinda overpowered. Repair will save you quite a lot of trouble too, that was actually the first mod I went for. Hacking is not all that useful, because there is almost always just an alternative route to things that can be hacked.

Yeah, I picked it first as I usually do, but it lock its usefulness pretty fast. Even when you eat too much ayy jizz and turrents start targeting you, it's easier to sneak around or just zap 'em and hacking them won't protect them from technomancers. Yeah. Key locations are usually hidden behind key-card locks that can't be hacked anyway, the few locked doors and safes are usually not worth if (at least for me, as they often contain neuromods in which I'm mostly swimming anyway). For turrets, repair is usually what you need anyway.

I also found the dismantle and dissect skills utterly useless. You don't need exotic matter for nearly anything except for Neuromods which I don't really need either, and you'll get just a TON of that shit from just collecting the basic organs and the exaction storage place anyway. Same goes for repair kits, they are way too abundant for the dismantle skill to be of any practical use.

Cool. I was able to put 20 hours in and bought it off cd keys for less than $40. Been wanting to give it a second go so I'd say it was worth it. Happy to know my gamble paid off, but glad that others can actually try the game if they're on the fence about it. Not the best game, but it's worth a play-through.
