Rockstar is one of the very few company that can still get away with bending me over with staggered releases.

Original anon here. Graphics and framerate absolutely matter, on consoles you'll have to endure a dynamic resolution and dynamic v-sync, as well as no anisotropic filtering, reduced shadow distance snd resolution, lower LOD distance. all with a sluggish 28-30fps cap.

No joke. I spent almost all my free time in my first couple of years of highschool playing the multiplayer. I remember countless times of getting sixteen people on the bridge over the river and we'd fistfight for hours until someone would get on a horse and knock everyone off. Or getting the explosive rifle in friendly free roam and killing people with it using dead eye. I put like 300 hours into the multiplayer before giving the story a chance. And that story completely engrossed me and left me devastated, but satisfied.

Red dead redemption's story was all by the numbers and pretty boring. I also couldn't identify with a literal cuck as a main character (his wife fucked literally all the antagonists in the game). I enjoyed undead nightmare far more, that was actually funny.

Anyway, I'm done with console gaming. If it comes on PC, I'll play it. Otherwise it can fuck off.

Rockstar games are usually the only AAA titles I feel comfortable buying, because of the attention to detail and I always find something to love about them. But my expectations are much higher now. The gap between GTA V and RDR2 is four or five years (normally they release one game every year), and there's literally no excuse to cut nice features when they have all the money in the world from GTA V and Online.

Every big game I was looking forward to has come out already, so it's just down to RDR2. At the very least, I'm looking forward to a more serious/dark Rockstar game again. Unless it's Bully I'm not a fan of their comedy.

I want it to be, I love both Red Deads, but GTA5 makes me worried. Not just because of GTAO, the physics engine in 5 was worse and gunplay was too. Can't disarm someone and immobilize them by taking out their legs, can't even switch shoulders when aiming. Also the multiple protag thing doesn't work, shit felt disjointed & Michael was the only one with character development

IF it comes to PC yes... if not i am not buying a console for just one or two games.

I loved RDR even though shooters are not usually my thing because the setting and the story where fucking great and haven't even played undead nightmare yet.

But even thought i loved it i already played it so another western, while it's probably gonna be good and all is not gonna be guaranteed buy.

Once the gameplay is out i might give the matter further consideration... if it's different enough. I just don't want to buy some kind of expansion of the first game, i want something new gameplay wise.

Same here except I bought it for PS3 on release date, and regretted it. I fell for all the hype. After playing it I thought that it will be just another forgettable overrated AAA shit experience like every other game, and learned not to fall for hype.

My surprise when this shit somehow turned into a cult classic amazed me. I believe it's purely because it was exclusive and shitposters latched on it. The game is clunky and not even fun to play and the story aside from the ending is just meh.

The MP was okay, but maybe because I played with friends. Everyone else I knew also bought RDR so we all played together for a few days. It was fun at first but got so repetitive. It was just go to X marked location on the map and do a shootout. Or go hunt other players. Wow I can form a posse of my friends and go and grief people in this somewhat empty map on a server with like IIRC 15-20 people on it.

It was okay but just repetitive, I don't get the hype, my friends all dropped it after a few days too and went back to other games as well.

RDR1 was being made by Angel Studio's, who had previously made Midnight Club and I think some other things with Rockstar (who was formerly DMA Designs). So Angel was developing it and Capcom was publishing, but then Rockstar became a publisher itself and bought out Angel Stuido's and turned it into Rockstar San Diego, then bought the publishing rights from Capcom.

So it was always a Rockstar game but one that Capcom almost published.

If I had a console I would probably pick it up, but my favorite part about the first Red Dead Redemption was riding through the desert with my posse, and over the last 7 years all of my friends that I played RDR with have grown up and moved on from video games.
