When I was in HS, you weren't allowed to use wikipedia yet because of how unreliable it was for sources cited.

Yeah but there was a time where wikipedia didn't have much of that. There were some things cited, but not entire paragraphs. You nearly need a citation after every sentence if it comes from a different source, which is what wikipedia strides for now. Which is a great thing. How far we've come.
it's not like most teachers would check citations either, just to make sure you HAD them. But i'unno what teachers do nowaday for this shit. Now every kid has a tablet??

Yeah that's exactly why I did it. I'm sure most of the citations on my essays were horribly off but they never bothered to check and I still got passing grades for doing hardly anything.

they just use a program to pattern match to see if your project matches word for word wikipedia unless you are quoting something

some guy figured out how to break it too by translating to polish and back. 100% non match :^) your experience may differ.
