Divine Divinity. There are two other maps of this size, plus one that's just a huge city (in addition to the smaller towns on this map.)

It's one of those games where the intro dungeon is a little too long, though.

It should be open after the first mission or two. You can try breaking in anywhere and even go to the more difficult sections of the city when you wish. It is unlikely you will be able to power through these harder areas because you will be so weak you will get your shit kicked.

Arcanum is a steampunk fantasy world, so it's not "dragon fantasy gay," just "tophat-wearing gnomes and orcs flying biplanes fantasy" gay. I think it was made by some of the same devs who did FO1, too. Underrail might be of interest to you, as well, though I never got into it.

But if you want to play isometric RPGs, you're going to have to relax your intolerance for gay fantasy shit. That's sort of the meat and potatoes of the genre.

there's literally nothing aside from fallout as far as i can tell. i've made this thread a couple times myself. even when the theme is cyberpunk or steampunk or whatever the hell that isn't medieval tolkien crap, they've still always gotta put magic elves and whatnot in it for no reason. you'd think someone would have come up with something different by now, but nope.

Arcanum is literally just Steampunk/Fantasy Fallout. If you build a technology based character, it affects magic around you. If you build a magic based character, it affects technology around you.
