I think the main crux of OW being shit is that ult progress is saved between lives. The reason an uber in TF2 is so much better than an ult in OW is that the uber has to be carefully made. There are chances for a pick class to completely erase all uber progress, so part of the game becomes focusing/protecting the healer for that vital push juice.

There's not stopping it in OW. Your ult WILL charge, even if it's slowly with the welfare ticks. If you get picked off, you can just come back with that ult ready to go. This basically turns it into a game of 'dick around until a good number of our team's ults are ready, then initiate a team fight using them' instead of a strategic, flowing game where picks are balanced against power classes guarding support classes.

You need to frag the Mercy before or during your large ult expenditure. Reignhardt shield and breaking LoS remove dva ult's damage. Hanzo ult moves at 2 miles per hour and is audibly telegraphed in the direction it comes from, only wayyou die to it is if you funnel yourself into a chokepoint or are literally retarded.

Ult charge management is the second largest aspect of OW, only surpassed by personal mechanics. Manging ult timers is manditory to be a goos player.

All these complaints are judging good play by TF2 standards, when OW has more complexity and failing to play around it gets you punished. Its like me complaining that my top 500 WoW experience means I should be chalanger in LoL and getting pissed that I can't PvE my way to Chalanger, when the intended game design, counterplay, and general game flow are totally different.

Almost every ult has such a massive call out before it actually initiates that unless the enemy is pinning you, you're retarded if you keep getting caught up in them. The only ones that should be catching you off guard are Reinhardt's, Reaper's, Tracer's, Zarya's, and Pharah's and even then all you have to do for Pharah is fucking face her while holding M1 as any hero and she dies lol

Also, all five support classes, but once you see that any support hero has a full ultimate (which you can check instantly by hitting tab), you should be expecting it.

If Mercy has her rez ready, fucking don't use your ultimate and play smart until after she uses it. Best teams will see a Mercy coming with rez ready and won't spam their ults like retards so they're defenseless when all six enemies suddenly reappear.

Don't hold on to it all game like a piece of shit. I don't play her often but when I do I constantly get 2 or 3 man rezzes. I very rarely hide at the right time and rez the whole team. I'll only rez a single person if it's someone important (an OP soldier or a Genji/Rein/Zarya with ult), or if the rez will keep me alive. Using rez makes me invincible so sometimes I pop it to give me enough time to fly away from whoever is on me.

Except for your examples. Aside from Junkrat, both Hanzo and DVAs ults are REALLY easy to avoid The only way you should get killed by these ults is if you're basically boxed in.

Junkrat's usefulness depends ENTIRELY on the skill of his user. a good junkrat will know where to have his tire come through without the team noticing.

An average player could kill a great player with an ult, but the great player is going to be better most of the time and have more ults.
