15 is a good level to beat Matador. Use the Force-type Magatama you can buy in the Underpass, have the demons use healing and Sukukaja and have Demifiend keep punching. It's quite easy when you've got a good party. Don't use any demons that are weak to Force.

I think at that point you have access to Fog Breath or a demon who uses it. It's pretty good.
Nocturne is generally pretty buff/debuff heavy, much more so than most other JRPGs, so you gotta get used to it.

I genuinely never understood the common joke that Matador is so difficult. I get that it's the first time the game actually stops you and requires some use of the mechanics, but I don't get how so many people hit a wall with him.

I remember the first mini-boss of P4, that knight guy, curb stomping me until I realized that debuffs were a thing. On top of that, shadow Yukiko requires you to block Chie's weakness in some capacity. So it's strange to me that people often come from Persona (typically P3 or 4) and hit a wall with Matador.

It's just baffling, especially if you came from Persona.

Is it just me or are the Nocturne bosses piss easy when you realize how broken buffs and debuffs are? Even on Hard mode.
Most of them don't even bother with dekaja/dekunda or use it rarely and once you get all buffs/debuffs up (which takes 2 turns) the boss is absolutely helpless, does little damage, takes a ton and misses you more often than hits.
