Junko has super analytical powers and foresight and so is bored with the world and this is why she loves despair, because it's irrational and thus unpredictable. Junko also doesn't do shit to convince people to join her and become despairs through her charisma, instead there's the Ultimate Animator who makes a brainwashing video and Junko just steals it. She then kills Chiaki while making the DR2 cast watch the video, which is how they all become despairs.

The UDG cast are all still alive and Monaca is now a NEET living in a van that goes into space (not joking), she sees the events of UDG as an embarrassing memory because Nagito's passion for despair creeped her out. She's now comic relief and suffers no consequences for the atrocities she caused in UDG.

DR3's plot starts with Makoto returning to the foundation after the end of 2, and being accused of being a Despair for helping the remnants, before being roped into a killing game, with Monokuma declaring it would be the last and greatest battle between him and Makoto, but the Monokuma this time was created by the head of the Hope Foundation, Tengan, who hadn't even planned for Makoto to be there and get involved in the new killing game, so this makes zero sense. Tengan (who may or may not have been inflicted with despair) makes everyone kill each other to force the Animator to broadcast a new brainwashing video to brute force hope onto everyone, but why he needed to do this to provoke the Animator in the first place is never explained. A bunch of bullshit with all the new characters later and the Animator is about to broadcast the video, but all the DR2 characters are brought back to life and come save the day, with Hinata convincing Animator not to do it. Makoto does literally nothing in the finale and has nothing to do with anything that happened in 3. The Remnants then decide to atone for their sins by taking the blame for Tengan's actions and living the rest of their lives on a deserted island, overlooking that Makoto will be held responsible for saving them (but he isn't because bad writing).
Also, Kirigiri dies and is magically brought back to life at the last minute by an ass pull, but Chiaki is the only DR2 character that stays dead.

There are a few other less important retcons and lots of other stupid parts of the story, but this is the basic rundown and the worst offences.

Oh fuck, I totally forgot to mention, the killing game in 3 has the characters all get knocked out every hour by an injection in their bracelets, and then a character is found dead by the killer. But there isn't any killer, because what actually happens is that when they're knocked out, whoever is closest to a monitor will be woken up, and the monitor will play Animator's brainwashing video, which makes the victim despair so hard that they kill themselves in a variety of ridiculous and entirely implausible ways. This entire system of elimination is absurd because it relied entirely on chance that Animator wouldn't have been near a monitor when he got knocked out and thus become the victim.

Her NGcode gave her up to the 4th sleep time to decide what to do, and i don't think it's that weird that she, too, wanted to survive, thus she did what she could to save al the people she could in that situation, herself included.
When the opportunity for the Cure W appeared, she took the chance, still not knowing if she would have survived(later on we know the cure merely slowed the process of the bracelet posion, so if DR2 cast didnt come to the bulding, possibly no one would have found her there still alive and she would have indeed died later on.
Let's not forget how, even if she figured out the monitor thing pretty much as soon as she could, she didnt figure out everything else that soon, so she still needed time to solve the rest.
At this point, it's up to opinion which decision should be the best one, if sacrificing herself 100% trying to save everyone else but risking naegi trying to save her and thus destroying HOPE by dying himself(again, we don't know exactly when she figured out ALL she did), or attempting to keep her group, including herself, safe at her best efforts while also trying to figure out the rest and still being able, if necessary(if the 4th sleep time would have come before she figured out everything, including a way to put what she knew into a viable plan and possibly to save herself too form her NGcode), to sacrifice herself for naegi.
Imho, she did take the best option, you're free to think the contrary, but again, at this point is merely opinions rather than indisputable facts.
