No one is asking for healers to do DPS levels, at least not in my experience. They should focus on healing but there are healing downtimes where you would basically be standing there doing nothing.

I try to do some damage but if the tank is undergeared or not using cooldowns or the DPS keep getting hit my own DPS will end up being low, but it's still better than 0.

I've never seen anyone complain at a healer for doing low DPS, only for doing no DPS.

-No one starting the game wants to level crafting/gathering professions from 1-60 through old content. Either make it faster, or allow crafters/gatherers to gather/craft in SB content and get full experience.

-more UI customization options

-alternative means of gearing outside dungeons, crafting, quests, vendors, running 1000+ runs in some PotD-ish thing.

-less Asian levels of grinding for so little reward. While it's not XI levels of grinding, we're getting to the point of farming Excalibur shards again.

-Grand Companies are, for the most part, useless now. Improve them, add better gear, improve the current gear, better rewards, etc.

This is a multiplayer game you contribute as much as you can in any way possible. There is only 2 things you can do as a healer which is heal damage and give damage. Why is it so difficult to fulfill another duty to your party if one is not needed yet? DPS are expected to buff and give damage,hell some DPS actually boost healing and res but shitty healers would be the first to complain if those players weren't doing everything but when the same is expected of healers everybody whines.

I'm starting to hate everyone else who plays this role holy fuck. If only people knew how much a healer can contribute you can boost your party's overall DPS by 30+%. Making runs much faster and when shit dies faster you heal less. I only really played FF14 how are healers in other MMOs? Do they just make you sit there and heal?

Most devs can't into pet classes and shouldn't even bother with them. No, it's tedious. DPSing comes naturally to the other two roles. Having to stance dance and get punished for it because shitters are gonna shit is not fun. WoW did something fun and had Smite for Priests heal the lowest HP ally for a portion of the damage dealt and when that health recovery wasn't enough you default to your regular healing spells. They also had damage reflection on their shields. The cooldown on Cleric stance is fucking stupid too. Punishes you because someone else makes you drop the stance. I should note because you'll probably bring it up like an autist but I'm not talking about clear downtimes where it's safe to do it. You can go MUH SAVAGE RAIDS AND PRIMAL but the majority of the time it'll be in dungeons and hard modes with shitters. Saying "It gets better when doing end-game with statics!" is just as shit as telling new players "the combat gets better 50 levels in!". No matter how true it is it's still not fun in the meantime.

How to fix SMN
- Remove pets
- Remove Dreadwyrm Trance
- You combo skills in order to summon a primal (sorta like mudras)
- Depending on which primal you summon it grants the party a buff (Garuda: Atk/Spell Speed, Titan: Mana/TP Regen, Ifrit: +Dmg)

It's bad in relation to the other abilities, yes. The literal only time you should ever use it is when you NEED to expend Aetherflow or you're about to run out of MP in which case you're pretty screwed if Aetherflow isn't coming up soon. 90% of the time it's more desirable to just wait for another Painflare/Fester after you've used Bane. It has its uses but it's still shit. I've never gone "Fuck yeah" when using Energy Drain like I have when doing a perfect AoE rotation.

Pro tip if anybody dies during you cleric toggle 80% of the time it wont be your fault. Just do it. I let so many bad players die but the good ones will shine. But you can adjust as needed. You don't need mechanics to hold your hand healing sticky situations you just need a little foresight and some fucking balls.

I used that as a point but dungeons are even easier to heal since most of the time only the tank will be taking damage until the bosses and even then the bosses are only a little more tough than the large mobs. You can do it friend just learn to toggle recognize strong mobs and give yourself a timer on how much dmg the tank takes in 5 seconds without him popping CDs.

A crafter can go from 1-50 in less the 3 hours depending of your route. 51-60 is supposed to be usual level grinding since it is part of current content but it is piss easy with moogles and you even get money from it.
Gatherers are pretty fast too with the right leves per level tier and collectibles, you can max one with a week or so o casual grinding.
Anything faster than this is a jump potion.

Relic weapons are basically a glamour, the value of a reward is mostly based on your own interests.

I understand but that's still kind counter productive. Your dps is worth shit if the party wipes. On the other hand, sacrificing your shit amount of dps to prevent a wipe and secure a clear is a reasonable choice. I would support the argument that healers should dps if the actual dps players did decent dps. But since most dps players suck donkey balls when it comes to doing dps and dodging mechanics, no reasonable person can shit on healers.

You're missing the point. It's the fact that shitters make dpsing as healer outside of end-game content feel like shit. This is unacceptable for new players coming into the game and provides a bad experience. It'd be fine if healers were made to handle dpsing while healing so it's more fluid but getting punished as a party/raid because of shitters is not fun. It's fine for shitters to fuck up but it's not fine to have their fuck-up preventable by healers and then punishing the healer by locking them into CS because after they get into it the DPS somehow attracts all the damage at the worst time possible either through honest mistakes or bad gameplay. It's just not a fun experience.

Question to healers, how vital is stoneskin to other heal jobs? Can I just ignore it and go work on scholar/Astrologian with just cleric stance and protect?

You do dailies, but they reward you with... dances.
You do triple triad and it's not even a way to get anything but more cards.
